your car is definitely worth more with a functioning factory AC than with vintage air

If it's Packard, it's from a Henney. Henney used the external latch, Packard didn't.

There are a series of Youtube videos by a company called Netzsch that go through how the different types of additive manufacturing work. Really good content but some familiarity with chemistry and physics is assumed. Covers plastic, metal, powder, liquid, line feed.

Yes, it says the engine is stuck. Not that surprising for a sleeve valve engine. I think the 1935 Panhard coupe is more interesting (lot 52). And there is a Hispano H6B for someone with a fat restoration budget.

How about 1956 and 57 Chrysler 300? Or 1966 and 1967 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider?

Agree 100% with keeping it original and representing its time. Just that there is a reason this period is called the malaise era

if the rubber is shot, this is a good candidate to recast in a flexible polyurethane

It doesn't drive "as it should" - it drives like a 4speed Chevy. Not necessarily badly, but not the same as designed.
I recall the 12 p1ece exhaust on the XJS - at least each piece was easy to handle that way.

Slightly contrary experience here. I used an 86 XJS V12 as a daily driver from 1996 - 2000. I had very few issues, but I bought a car with a known history from new, best one I could find, and maintained it carefully. As said earlier, parts are expensive. Fluids had to be checked weekly, even with no visible leaks. When Lucas stuff failed I replaced with Bosch. Replace rear pads before they can score rotors because of access delight to inboard discs.
Not super quick from a stop because of weight and gearing, but a wonderful road car. Grace, pace , no so much space.
Putting an SBC in a Jaguar seems the same as putting one in an antique - buy a Chevy if that's what you want.

you're disguising it by leaving out the trema (two dots) that tells you it's three syllables. cee-tro-n

sorry, but Jag-wire goes with CEE-ment and vee-hickle. If you're after the Jethro Bodine sound, go with it.

Since you did a great job with the 3D print. I suggest you make a part out of (whatever) plastic at +2% size and use it to make the silicone mold.
This is a very interesting "hybrid process."
I don't think there is one best way - it depends on the part function and what you gave to start from.
Gary, you are doing some fine work here

Please bag the condescending "lol" - I also am familiar with most plastics. You rarely see PLA used outside of 3D manufacturing. I'm interested in what material properties are enhanced in this grade - a question of neither statement nor debate, but one of data.

i do 90% of my printing in PLA, I use a high grade that has properties like ABS but much easier to print. doing drafting and design for hte last 25+ years makes this hobby even more fun for me. cant find a part design, print, make it
PLA is fine for casting patterns, but what properties do you think are similar to ABS? PLA has rather low heat deflection temp and low resistance to moisture.

I think the Town and Country inclusion is another sticky precedent. If the chassis is worthy, why only certain bodies? If the body drives the selection, then why not the Ford, Mercury and Nash wood-bodied cars?
