  1. Want to BUY Gray & Davis, Model Y, starter as shown in the picture.
Variations might occur. We desire for a 1916 Metz Model 25 but does not have to come from one

    They were used on others.

Will consider all conditions, even "for parts" items. If we have some luck,  we can assemble one from parts found if a dream version does not appear.

  2. Nice car...but....as an owner of 3 High Wheeler (1903 to 06) Holsmans ....which all have 2 cylinder opposed engines...and two 1910 Sears High wheelers....I stumble greatly over the offered price.  Even Sotheby sold MINT totally restored Holsmans under 50K and most of the time...a heck of a lot less.   To me...more sentiment here than market value.  Neat car though...loved the historic story....and, then again,  only my opinion.

  3. Thank you Mark...I will do.   However....don't you think it would be nice to be able to get something off the shelf to restore our cars ?   Silent chain is used extensively in the industry and gears are available...however........there are soooo many chains....sooo many gears...need to be both a slide rule engineer to figure it out.   Just thought someone...somewhere...might have found the correct descriptor to be able to order from Ramsey or other companies who specialize in Silent Chain and Silent chain gears.

  4. Thinking of a 1924 Dodge Bros North East Electric Starter/Generator.  It uses a GA silent chain and gearing...the label says.  It would be VERY helpful, for re-storers,  to know how...and by what modern terminology...to order both this GA chain, and possibly, missing Gearing.   Is there a neat person out there who this updated information for Dodge restorers ???

  5. Dave...I do not think your comment was out of line.   It is just another opinion and I honor your right to hold same.  I just see,  in this case...that a rebuild would be 90% (perhaps) new stuff or put together...while a case like mine would simply be replacement parts.   It is just an opinion of where the greatest..and perhaps...the fastest and most beneficial use of those parts can be obtained.   Again....just my opinion.  Cheers...Ken

  6. Dave...there is a certain kind of logic in that statement...but...perhaps there are cars out there that need just ONE piece to put them back on the road as completed vehicles for posterity.  I am such a case..needing friction contact plate and gear drive.  The rest of the car is just sitting there..finished..waiting for that all important part.  Shame really not to complete what is doable quickly than to start a (perhaps) several years long project which might..or might not...get done.   Cheers...Ken

  7. This car has made the rounds.   Been advertised for several different prices on different sites.

    Here is the latest listing:

    https://classiccars.com/listings/view/1545490/1930-chrysler-imperial-for-sale-in-cadillac-michigan-49601

On another entry...the original seller weighs in about NOT knowing what is going on.

Prices have ranged from 35K to 22K and now 26.5K.

Neat car...too bad...but then...the best lure catches the best fish eh ?

  8. Working on a 1910 Sears Motor Buggy which is in pretty good condition...except...when arrived..found out that both bearings, in one front wheel,  were totally missing...and the other wheel...they are shot.

There are NO numbers on the perished set at all.  Tried McMaster...nothing silmilar

Anyone replaced these bearings on their Motor Buggy  ??  Would like to find a source.  Thanks...Ken
