Never, ever, has anyone appreciated the all engrossing exhilaration of doing an awe inspiring speed of thirty five miles per hour……until it is done on a no speed limit Autobahn in Germany.
A 60 ton, M-60A1 tank, rolling on a track of rubber blocks simply was not designed with the intention of being driven, on a hard surface road, at any speed.
I don’t know if “fish-tail” is a good word or a proper noun, but I do know it is a prominent part of the tankers vocabulary after a three year tour in Deutschland😱.
Jack
I spent a year in a tank battalion and went to Germany for Reforager in 1974.
I remember a German driver in a VW bluffed one of our tanks off the road! They were aggressive!!!
A jeep on the Autobahn was quite an experience.

If it ends up at an estate auction, it could be an opportunity!
Here's the ad text:
Listing ahead of future estate sale, Dodge Brothers 1928 Victory Sedan that’s halfway restored with a frame refinished and powder coated, new flathead engine, a ton of new parts, refinished wooden wheels, tires, and a ton more. This antique car once finished, will be very nice and will last for another 100 years. It hasn’t been registered since the 50s, the body is in decent shape has some surface rust but no holes or damage, so theoretically could be put back together as is but it’s ready to be fully restored now. Over $12k in parts and work has been invested. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to so I am listing it to gage interest.

I'm not so sure we are talking about the same car. Both Chryslers with the number 14, but otherwise dissimilar.

Forgot to add that Martin did tell me the Argentinians had changed the gearbox and attempted to restamp the engine engine number. I have no personal knowledge of either car, but the car in your picture looks different than the one in mine.
Old racing cars are pretty squishy when it comes to authenticity.

that car has nothing original..is not even a recreation of the car they said it was. IT doesnt look even similar to the Golden Seal that raced alongside Gary's Studebaker. Which is really incredible is the price someone paid for that car that dont even have 1 Windfiled carb or the right gear box. axels, etc.

It's amazing how rare these are today, given that their sales were not that far behind Ford in period.
This has a '28 motor, which is a big upgrade. Probably still overpriced given condition.

I think this did happen with some regularity. I remember Martin Swig had a '32 Chrysler Indy car that had made it's way to South America and back.

Assuming they can be a bit flexible on the price, this looks like a reasonable project.

I guess they decided '37 was too late for the tommy gun, so they went with the moonshine runner and window cooler.
Looks like a decent car underneath the embarrassing "accents" . Lots more pics but zero info in the ad!

The ad mentioned rust due to being at the coast (Santa Cruz). You can't see it in the pictures but probably smaller chrome pieces are the main victims. Still seems a great price for a '51 Caddy driver.

Boy, is this guy confused!
Certainly not an Aston Martin, and not an Austin either. Standard Flying 12.

We've sure seen worse for more.
I wonder about wood in the body....

It's interesting that AI couldn't figure out that the spare tire is blocking the door from opening.
I've seen Model As that have a similar problem.

"It has the look of a car that had some restoration done in the early days of the hobby"
I had a book on restoration I bought in the 70's that said something like "if there is a problem with upper sheet metal, just remove it and make a fair weather tourer" Restoration clearly had a different meaning to many people in those days.

What a beauty! I love the color!
I imagine the driving experience would be very nice.
I know the parked in front of your house experience would be!

That is a very interesting bit of ephemera!!!

More explanation needed but I assume they just can't find the title. An additional hassle for sure, but not unsolvable.
Two dead cylinders? A compression test would tell you a lot.
Depending on how badly they want to sell, it could be an opportunity, but it would have to be pretty darn cheap!

Pulled one of these out from under many years of ivy growth in a backyard in Stanton, CA some 20(?) years ago. What a day that was. It was worth the effort though. I passed it on to a Canadian who did a deserved major restoration of the car. '32 PBs are Plymouth's highest development of that solid 4 cylinder motor and are truly handsome!
(Had I done the car, it definitely would have had blackwalls.)
Really nice! If you are looking for a pre-war 4 cylinder, the PB Plymouth is the top of the heap! It has features the Model A crowd pays big money to add to their engines: Counterweighted crank and pressure oiling. Plus, being a ’32 Chrysler product, it has “floating power” (the smoothness of a 6 with the economy of a 4) and hydraulic brakes!

I'll let "them what know" comment on correctness and price, but it's certainly a desirable car. (more pics in ad)

By '67 they had a gizmo that injected a little oil into the gas as you drove and smoke was greatly reduced. The earlier cars needed the oil to be mixed with the gas at fill-up, which made them dual purpose: transportation and Mosquito abatement.
