Beautiful car when finished...can you get there from here? (more pics in ad)
https://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/d/san-clemente-jaguar-xk120/7754504532.html
1953 Jaguar XK 120. Barn find project. Fairly complete car, all matching numbers. Car has been in family for 30 years but was neglected, bill of sale only. Brought car from NV to CA in 2022, have disassembled much of the car but it is still a rolling chassis. Engine and transmission was removed and professionally rebuilt- engine is a piece of art by itself. Body needs a lot of work, have acquired from Moss Motors body panels to replace the rough areas. Project is too much for me but car needs to get back on the road. I have only provided a few pictures- let’s talk and I will send more. Call or text Tom 714-907-3372

I do take issue with " the car is almost complete" but it could be a useful parts car at a fraction of this price.

This is a very rare project car. The engine turns and looks good. The interior is cleaned out but there are seats and some glass. The body is perfect and the car is almost complete. Some of the glass is there. The car has a 120 engine which is very common. The engine runs well. (951) 375-6303

A seldom seen model...That upholstery choice makes this seem very overpriced.

Wayne Sheldon: This is the same car. I like it. A good runner. Price is coming down to earth. I would pay $4500, maybe. Just my situation. Going to need everything. Unless you are handy with a sewing machine, the upholstery cost will exceed the value of the restored car.
That's a big problem with many cars today. Paint, upholstery, mechanical work...any ONE of them can exceed the value of a restored car, and in combination....no chance!

Lack of good pictures, and little info but looks nice...what does OBF mean in this context?
Front and rear license plates don't match!

This needs to get sold quick, before the flipper starts making "improvements" to increase its salability.
Nice car.
I'm surprised they haven't yet applied the bullet hole decals.

I think these "inherited" cars are a real challenge.
The seller doesn't know what it is, or it's condition, but fondly remembers the dear departed.
-
I suppose it could be a money pit, but that hasn't stopped me in the past (although it should have!) Who's idea was that diamond plate floor? No engine pictures!

Similar car was the winner of the first race at Sebring! Subsequent races were not scored on a handicap system...the big boys didn't like it!

I have a hard time believing that car went to Pebble Beach. I'm not sure I'd haul this thing away if it were free.
They claimed the car in the picture was at an auction at Pebble during Car Week...not at the concours.

I think this is one of the better sounding projects that have been posted!
Long term ownership of a well cared for car that needs some work high labor but relatively low parts price work. Makes me start thinking...
(sorry no room here...)

I was thinking this price is a little high for a Chevy, but then I saw the car. Really nice!!!

There definitely were roadsters...but I think I agree that the way the top attaches looks "custom". Those wonderful headlights seem to be a one year only feature. In looking this up I found a lot on info about the president of Nash-Kelvinator, George Mason. I thought immediately of the University, but that George Mason was a figure of the American Revolution. This George Mason would be perfect for the part of "industrialist fat cat" in any '40s movie:

The press likes to "fan the flames". Ditto the whole unintended acceleration mess. Car and Driver did a test with a Mustang with the biggest engine available. At 65 miles an hour, the mashed the throttle to the floor to simulate a runaway condition and were still able to bring the car to a safe stop using the brakes. They proved brakes always win, and the only way some of this horrible stuff happened was to not apply them.

I'm posting this for member Mark Shaw, so that it's "Not Mine"
located 15 miles North of Portland OR. $10K (add another$1K if you want the beautiful canoe)
PM Mark for more info...sure looks nice, and I bet that light weight body makes it quite peppy!
BTW A Buick was raced a Spa and the Mille Miglia in the 20's , so they definitely have a performance history!

1930 Chrysler model 77 roadster - $40,000
in "Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale
Posted
Ok, it's a bit garish, but a 77 roadster is a very wonderful and stylish car. Wish there were more good pics.
What does "partially restored" mean? Trade request is a possible red flag.
