Hello, here are the photos of an exhibition of vintage cars (1910/1985) and "yongtimer" (year 1985/1990) that I went to with my brother last weekend.
It is located in the town of Montauban, a town near where I live.
We went there with my brother's 1984 Peugeot 205 GTI 1.6LOn the road a beautiful Alpine A110 (also called " berlinette ") follows us
once we arrived we were parked in the 1980/1990 category, so the first photos will be with this generation
Renault 5 " Super Campus "
Peugeot 106 Rally
Renault Super 5 GT Turbo and Renault 5 Alpine Turbo
Alfa Romeo
A Renault 8 Gordini arrives
Ford Mustang
Autobianchi and Talbo Samba

Good job ! , the underside of the car is beautiful
4 hours ago, EmTee said:Underside looks good; what did you use? Painting the underside of my cars is on the 'to-do' list. As you already know, that's a dirty and thankless job for something that most people won't bother to notice.
It's recently (we finished last weekend) with my brother we stripped, degreased, primed and painted black the underside of my 1978 Dodge Monaco police. We did the underside where the tank is (we had dismantled the tank to repair it, as we had taken it out we worked on the trunk panel), and with two people we had 4 full weekends of work. It's a long and dirty job, but once it's done we're very happy to have done it

When you're adjusting the panels, make sure the car is resting on the suspension, as if it was resting on the ground. It looks like you may be doing that already, but just FYI.
Regarding the speaker...
Thanks for the internet links ! I didn't know that they remanufactured the dashboard speaker .

The front speaker on the 69 is held in with one bracket which holds the magnet on the speaker and is bolted to the tab provided.
Do you have a picture of what you found in the car?
Yes, the speaker support is made by the magnet, and finding a new speaker is not easy.
Here are mine from my 1969 Electra- 1

Thank you very much for this information !
Indeed on my parents' 1941 Buick there was the handbrake cable which hurt the torque tube and I didn't know that originally there was this rubber washer. So I attached the cable so that it no longer moves, but now that I know that there was this rubber washer originally, we are going to order this part ! .
THANKS !- 2

You did a good job on this beautiful Buick .
The rust can be repaired and your Buick is in good condition
Some people use the phrase " car for a parts " and I don't like that phrase, I like American cars, and I like to see people saved, they're beautiful cars that make us dream all over the world !- 3

The dashboard is very nice, and it's good if you were able to find the right U-joints

They look like the correct ones! The ones I need are for the rear most u-joint. This car (the '68 Wildcat) has the two piece driveshaft and the '69Electra has a single.
I know you are a long way away, but where did you find them?
Also you mentioned about modifying the straps or joints, what did you have to do?
Hello, I took my u-joints to a turner/miller (machinist) to rectify the "edge" that I circled in red, the arrows in red show what I had to remove for it to be like original
The model of these u-joints are: Dorman 81002
You can find them here on this link :https://www.amazon.com/Dorman-HELP-81002-U-Joint-Repair/dp/B000CO7ED0
Or here
https://www.dormanproducts.com/p-18591-81002.aspx
Normally it's the same model as mine

The u-joints you are looking for, are those of the transmission shaft / axles?
If that's right, I had to change them on my Buick, it was complicated to find, but I found a model that was similar but I had to modify the new joints so that they correspond with the 'drive shaft .here are photos of the original u-joints and the new ones :
the original one on the left and the new one on the right, you can see that the new one is different and I had it rectified so that it is like the original

The Buick will soon be ready for painting !
Rust in the trunk could also be water condensation over time ?- 1

Folks, I'll post this here just in case. Would anyone have a right hand door mirror for this car, the '68 Wildcat, in good condition that they are willing to sell me?
Thanks.
Keith
I was also looking for two mirrors for my 1969 Electra, and I realized that there were two models available.
A non-adjustable model, and another slightly larger model which is adjustable from the inside thanks to a joystick.
Are you looking for an adjustable or non-adjustable mirror ?
If you are looking for an adjustable one, there is an adjustment joystick on the door panel or on the dashboard -
I may be making a mistake, but if you turn the propeller in the other direction, does the rotation change ? (the propeller sucks on one side and blows on the other)

I am going to paint the car myself. I've done a few cars and hopefully it will turn out good. Patience and careful work I've found is the key for me.
Okay , good luck , your Buick will be very beautiful once finished

Thanks, I’m enjoying this car thanks to Old Tank who restored this beauty. The City of Coral Gables is based on an Old Mediterranean architecture, you can find beautiful buildings and houses depicting this discipline throughout the city.
Agreed, yes it's a beautiful city, and if one day I go on vacation to this region, I will visit this city
Your Buick is very very beautiful, and the work done is fabulous, it is superb ! -
Superb photos, your Buick is magnificent and the other cars are very beautiful too .

Are you the one going to paint the car ? Or is it a garage/body painter who will paint it ?
