Jerry, do you mean to say that you couldn’t get a valve cover gasket from Rick D?

As for buying a used 30 year+ old Teves system, I would say that if you do, just take the pump off yours and install the pump from the used one.

so far i don't have updated response from him. i sent him a friend requset using you as a reference as well. i never expected the headaches this car came with.

  2. I've been able to locate a "complete" teves brake device. Seller claims it is in good working condition. In any event such a part is ? years old. Buy it or forget it?   Thanks, Jerry.           I'm still looking for a valve cover gasket.

There is also a lot of brake information on the Buick Reatta forum.   Teves the maker of those brakes supplied them for several car manufacturers during the late '80's

also look at www.reattaowners.com   site brake information there.

Thanks, drop the "s" to access the webpage. www.reattaowner.com

I'm thinking of getting a new cruiser for myself in the next half-year-year. I've always liked these cars, but was scared off by the reputation that they are hard to keep on the road. If anyone who has one that they actually drive - not keep as a garage queen - I'd appreciate hearing your honest thoughts on them. Thanks for reading this!

The signal from the distributor 'pickup' is sent to the ECU "SMEC" which brings the whole system to life, so to speak. That signal is also used to activate the tachometer, however you are possibly thinking of the small, removable circuit board, that is part of the instrument cluster.

If you were to ask a particular question, an answer might be forthcoming.

"You da man"   Its the "pickup' I was referring to. I saw them on eBay, just now.  I'll need to get a closer look at my car this weekend.  Thank you so much for sharing you expertise with me.    Jerry
