  1. Working on the vent window. I have a kit where the rivits are replaced with screws. However I would like to use rivits. So I'm trying to find the correct ones. Also working on the side glass.
  2. It is a nice surprise to discover that a part has become available. That is one of the benefits when a restoration takes too long time to finish. 🤣 These windshield channel to fender drain tubes are now available. Big thanks to the companies that continue to make parts available. Working on the rear windows. Took a few attemps to remember how all the parts fit and how they should be installed. Rear glass is the original, looks like it will clean up nicely. I have new side glass and new windshield in the blue tone.
  3. Good progress the last couple of days. NOS parking lights and NOS T3 headlights.
  4. Got the front bumper on. Took a few attemps to get a good fit. They are heavy like 🥵
  5. Last update was in January 2023. That is a long time ego. However I have been working on the car. So here are a few pictures. In October it moved out of the garage on its own power for the first time in 20 years 😀 that was a big moment. The front end is on and I'm getting the bumper ready to go on also.
  6. Thanks. Sorry for the late reply. If you still have it I will reach out to you in January. There is also a few other things I need and others in this forum have also been so kind to respond to my questions on things I need. I will reach out in January.
  7. Continue to hook up the harness. This is a trial assembly so I can get the engine started again and test electrical connections. I need a new face for the instrument cluster as it is cracked. Radio not going in yet.
  8. Thanks Jim, Exactly what I was looking for.
  9. Dashboard is in. Not fully mounted and not fully assembled. Wheels are on and it is down from the jack stands 😀 Next is to get it fired up again, making everything works before the front end gets assembled. Any suggestions to where I can buy a battery that looks like an original? it is difficult to find one that has the correct width.
  10. Day by day getting the something done. A few more things getting on the dashboard. Last of the breaklines I also got done this week, so bleeding brakes is up next week. Tires mounted on wheels.
  11. Hi lancemb, Yes, I'm sure. Here are pictures I took when I disassembled it between 2003 and 2005. As far as I understand it was assembled the 2nd week of January 1957 at South Gate.
  12. Thanks for the info. That makes sense.
  13. Rim and tires are ready. I had one bad rim, so I was looking a replacement. Not easy to find an exact match. Found 2 that came very close. The spare tire rim was 0.5 inch smaller in width, dont know if that is correct from the factory or it might have been changed at some point.
  14. Yes, they are attached in the picture with the left tail light mounted. They are used to hold/attach the masticated rubber. To avoid water/dust etc. from the underside to sucked up on the rear.
  15. The bumper is of and tail light is on 😀 Man that bumper is heavy.
  16. Thanks Lancemb and thanks for the hint - I was very careful and not that frustrated, because of the heads-up. Tried to get them on - no luck. Would not risk scratching the paint 😰, so the bumper will come of again 😟 But now I know the bumper fits very nicely 😆😆
  17. Yes, here comes an update. Last year my son got his first car, a 74' Vette. It needed some work and we spend much father and son time. It was so rewarding working on his car with him, however it also meant that I have not done much on the '57 Buick. But here is some photos and today we got the rear bumper on.
