Hi folks:
I am trying to find one or two decent stake pockets for my 1937 Dodge MC pickup. I have the repos that Hokey sells, but they are different and I would have to replace all four if I used these. Was wondering if someone might have a spare stake pocket or two for sale. I have attached a few photos to show the difference in the shape of the stake pockets.
Thanks

Thanks. Good idea!

Thanks, but 1937-38 gauges ate different. They clustered all four gauges in one can, and the speedometer in another!

Is there any lettering or details left on your faceplates? Usually the graphics shop can rebuild the details on the computer with a little work, at least that's what they did with mine!
The hash marks are still there (on the outer edge of the face-plate), but the rest of the plate is virtually white. I have a graphics guy who can recreate this, just thought I would ask if anyone has it handy before investing more time in having the artwork reproduced. Once I have the artwork, my face-plates will need to be stripped and painted, and then the lettering and hash marks reapplied.
Thanks

Hi folks:
I just pulled the gauges out of my 1937 Dodge MC pickup truck, and am looking at replacing or restoring. I have some resources to make vinyl graphics for the face plates (or silk screen), but am in need of some good artwork. Might anyone have artwork in PDF or other format that they might share or sell? I need the graphics for all four gauge face-plates, and interested in anything else you might have. Have located two NOS gauges, and might just go ahead and buy them, but still interested in doing as much restoration as I can.
Thanks

I have been researching paint colors for my 1937 MC 1/2 truck. I see a list of colors in Bunn and Brownell's book and it does not mention "Gray Olive Green" as a color for 1937 (according to their info, this color was used from 1933-36). But, as you will see in the attached paint chart, it is listed in the 1937 color chip chart: http://www.tcpglobal.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1937-dodgetruck-pg01.jpg
I have seen some 1937 trucks painted this color (both Dodge and Plymouth) and trying to validate that it is a correct color for a 1937 MC. If anyone has any info, will appreciate hearing from you. I assume it's possible that the chip was carried over to thew 1937 chart, but not used in production??
Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I am starting a frame-off restoration of my 1937 Dodge MC pickup truck, and prefer to have the master and wheel cylinders rebuilt. Also thinking of having the water and fuel pump rebuilt. I have used replacements on another truck project and really don't like the imported stuff we get these days. I assume this will be a bit more expensive, but willing to make the investment.
My question: can anyone recommend a good shop for this service. I see lots on the Internet, and will appreciate any referrals you can offer!
Thanks

I live in Finland though..

Sorry. It was sold, and picked up this morning!

I have a very cool Wallin Foster Associates motor block heater that includes the original box and instructions. I understand that this accessory was made to heat the block and could also be hung inside the vehicle for some additional heat?? This item includes the original box, although it's not in very good condition. The original instruction sheet and envelop are also included. If interested, please contact me directly at 724-625-4440.
Thanks

I was wondering if you had any motor parts? I need a horn, oil filter, and a heater. I also need the passenger window and roll up mech.
Good morning. I do have a motor from a 1937 Chrysler. I need the horn, but the rest is available. Here are some pictures. If you have any interest in the entire piece, I have a resource who can pack this on a pallet for commercial shipping. Please feel free to call if you care to discuss. I also have some sheet metal, and may have a few window regulators. I picked this stuff up a few weeks ago and haven't had a chance to dig through all the parts to see what else is there. It's stored about an hour away at my brothers farm, and will be getting to it a week from Saturday.
Thanks again,

I have four fairly rare solid disk wheels that were used on the 1937 and 1938 3/4 and 1 ton Dodge trucks. These wheels are solid disks and are 16" with six holes, and are the split ring type. The tires that are installed on them are quite usable and are 6.5 x 16. I've tried to show tread depth with a few coins. I've only seen pictures of these types of wheels, and would keep them for my truck, but it is a 1/2 ton and they don't fit! I also have one hubcap that is available. If you have any interest in these wheels, or any of my other parts, please give me a ring at 724-625-4440. The parts are located in Somerset, PA 15501.

I have available a restore-able cab and two fairly nice doors for a 1936-37-38 Dodge (or Plymouth?) pickup truck. I believe this cab is used on 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, but you'll need to do a little homework on that. First, the doors both look very nice with minimal rust. They had been cleaned and primed for use on a rat-rod. The cab needs some work as you can see in the pictures, but is quite restore-able.
I also have some other parts for this series truck which I will list in a another post. Feel free to give me a ring about any of this at 724-625-4440. The cab is located in Somerset, PA 15501.

[TD]This engine was recently acquired from a fellow who was hot-rodding a 1937 Dodge pickup truck. The serial number is C16-5865 which indicates that it is from a 1937 Chrysler Royal car. The block number is 666029-7 and the head number is 666010-4. The three speed transmission with parking brake has a serial number of C36548. The guy I got this from told me that it was running when it was removed, and based on the shiny surface of the clutch parts, I suspect that this is accurate. The engine turns over by hand.
As you can see, the bolt-on's are mostly there including the horn, carburetor, generator, coil, voltage regulator. etc. The only missing part I can see that is missing is the starting motor. I prefer to sell of of these parts together, and open to offers, etc. I have a number of other parts that are for the 1937-38 Dodge pickup trucks. Engine is located Somerset, PA 15501. Please call with questions or for additional information...724-625-4440.

Thanks. I estimated it at 2425 pounds. Got this by looking at some figures for cars that were close to 3000 (they seemed to be happy with that figure). Is there a source for this info. I couldn't find anything in the books for a pickup.

Hi folks:
I am registering a 1937 Dodge MC pickup in PAS and the title department want the actual weight of the truck. I see in the specs a gross weight of 4000. Is that what i should use, or does anyone know what the weight of it is?? I can't find anything in the books.
Thanks

I believe that a rear bumper was an option. The rear bumper I picked up was to be used on the front, but doesn't fit. The search continues. The more I research the bed, the more I believe it is original. Will probably be able to confirm once I have it off. For now, just looking for parts. The rear fenders are obviously the challenge, and hate to have to use fiberglass.
-
Thanks for your comments. In looking at pictures of other trucks, it appears that they did have a seam in the center. Certainly would make installing it much easier. I see that Mack has the head panel and tail gate. I got a rear bumper with brackets off a 1936 sedan, but it doesn't look right. Too curved! Need to do a thorough inventory of parts needed!!
-
Can anyone comment on the bed. I has a seam up the middle, and I was wondering if this is original or might it have been replaced. Also the pattern that is pressed into the metal? I have some photos of one other truck, and it looks the same to me, but hoping that someone who has this series of truck would comment. It's the last picture: 1937 Dodge - a set on Flickr

Pete:
Hauled my 1937 to the farm today to start looking over the needs. Found an old hood ornament that may work for a model, and will be looking into how these can be made. Also found the front windshield crank. Looking for rear fenders, front bumper and grill parts. I did find a rear bumper off a 1936 sedan. Don't think it will work?? Might anyone know.

Thanks Pete:
Will keep a note on this. Love to see some pictures of your truck. Just got mine and will not be starting on it for some time. Really scrambling to find some good reference resources for this era truck. By the way, where you located

My sense is that this process may be optimal in making the model from which we can cast parts, in a more traditional manor. Having a 3-D digital image that can be tweaked to make corrections, and then archived for future use may be of value. There have been significant advancements in this technology and it's bound to get even better. Once again, just starting to research this with a few colleagues who are in the industry.

The book you are referring to is incorrect. The gauge arrangement is the same in 1937 and 1938 (honest). That drawing in the Bunn and Bronell has caused a lot of confusion. What you show above should be labeled 1937-38. The three gauge arrangement is 1936 only in this era.
Thanks
