  1. Hi Guys,

I need some help with my engine problem.  I have a 1990 TC with a 3 litre V6.  Last week when starting the car the engine immediately revved up to 4500 rpms and will not return to normal idle. The fault code read 14 which would indicate the MAP sensor voltage is too low.  However I checked the voltage and it read at 4.8 at the output.  I went ahead and changed the MAP sensor and any vacuum hose that showed any sign of cracking.  I also changed the throttle position sensor and I still have the high revving when starting the engine.  Does anyone have an idea of what the problem is?  I am open to any suggestion.

  2. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to remove a frozen brake rotor.  I tried the method using the bolts through the mounting bracket for the calipher, but the bolt with the nut that is supposed to apply pressure against the back of the rotor does not seat squarely on the rotor back.  The position of the mounting bracket and the configuration of the rotor only allows the outer edge of the nut pressing against the rotor back.

  3. I am in the process of replacing my old tan soft top on my 1990 TC with a new one and I would like to know if anyone out there knows of a source that can take my original glass (with the pentatrident logo) and secure it into a new top or perhaps a top company that already supplies a new top with the logo on the back window?

  4. I received a reply from someone on the Chrysler Forum who suggested i check the grounds. It was a ground wire coming from the negative post on the battery. This car has a lot of quirks and there are days when I want to give up, but then i drive it and I remember why I bought it in the first place.

  5. I am at my wits end with this 1990 3 liter. I fix one problem on the TC and another appears. This time the car is not having power to the gauges when I turn the ignition to the on position. The electrical accessories work, the windows, the lights etc. are fine; the starter will not activate nor strangely enough will the radio. This has happened on and off for the past several weeks. The car will at times start and run fine and then will do again what I have described above. There have been a few times when I was driving and the car would suddenly lose all power. After I stopped the car I was able to restart it again as if nothing had happened. This time I parked it in my garage a few days ago and when I went to start it today I had again the same non start issues as previously described.

Does anyone have an idea of what this could be?

  6. I recently had trouble with my trans on my 1990 TC. The trouble came after my cooling system hoses were replaced and my radiator flushed. When I went to drive the car I could get no further than 5 minutes down the road when it would go into neutral and remain there until the trans fluid had cooled, whereupon it would once again drive normally. It seemed that there was an obstruction in the trans cooler line and the computer was overheating. Once that was cleared then it drove fine. I also chaged the fluid taking care that only the ATF+4 was use dand also a can of Sea Foam Trans Tune. The trans initially experienced a momentary shudder on a few occasions when going fromn 3rd to 4th gear, but now it shifts smoothly and better than before.
