  1. Attached are pics under the dash and of the disconnected EVS. Hope this helps. I have this dealer EVS II Installation manual, but not the original EVS one. It won't let me attach a pdf file.
  2. Hi Guys, I am removing the old crappy dealer installed EVS system from my 89". I located an EVS II installation manual (really wish I had the earlier original system one). I have disconnected the under-dash control module and it look like I need to get an O.E. ignition switch harness that was removed when the dealer installed the EVS system. Does anyone know where I can obtain one?
  3. Does the pad covering the horn on the steering wheel simply pull off on the 89 model?
  4. Thanks Hemi. This year I didn’t post upside down photos like last year.
  5. There was a large turnout at the show last week. Many of the attendees remarked that they had heard of the TC, but had never seen one. There were mostly positive responses. There was one however that dissed the TC as being nothing but a “tarted up” poor quality Le Baron. One of the show exhibitors took an interest in the TC and it turned out to be Gary Powers’ (the U2 pilot shot down over the Soviet Union in 1960) namesake son. He was there with his dad’s 1960 Mercedes convertible sedan.
  6. My 1989 16 valve kept leaving oil spots on my garage floor after I had switched to Mobil 1 synthetic. When I changed the oil a few weeks ago I added Blue Devil engine oil stop leak and it has worked wonders. The leaks have totally stopped.
  7. I used an OEM part. I’ve had some bad experiences with aftermarket parts.
  8. There was a hairline crack in the distributor itself, not the plastic cap.
  9. Last year I had a dilemma with my 16 valve. The engine would start and run for about 25 minutes, then shut down. After about 30 minutes you could start it again. This went on for weeks and I replaced numerous parts including the Hall effect pick up. Nothing solved the issue. I finally pulled the distributor for examination and it had a crack. I chatted with Hemi and he concluded that when the engine warmed up the crack expanded causing the engine to shut down and contracted upon cooling. I am just passing this along in the event anyone else experiences similar problems.
  10. Who or what team was involved in the styling of the TC?
  11. I took a pic of the build plate. It was an early one 0405. I remember this car. Now there are two left in Richmond. A yellow 89’ sohc and my 89’ 16 valve.
  12. It looks like the same regurgitation from a “critic” that appears to have done no real analysis other than repeat the tripe from other critics not in the know.
  13. Thanks for the info Hemi. It appears Chrysler mucked up the process of transporting the TC. I don’t suppose there is any way of obtaining the build sheets for the cars at this point. I didn’t realize the irony of asking for the TC build sheets on 10/15 until you pointed out it was Lido’s birthday.
  14. Did the TC Maserati’s have build sheets from the Innocenti plant?
  15. Hemi, I feel privileged to be chastised by someone of your experience. Without you I would still be puzzled as to why my 16 valve wouldn’t start. I never would have been at the show to begin with. Bill W.
  16. Well, after being chastised I felt I should correct the down under image.
  17. Sorry for the upside down pics. I don't know why they posted like that!
  18. My 16 valve at the June 11, 2022 Richmond AACA Show and Swap Meet. Lots of cars, but the only TC there.
  19. I appreciate your input. I have previously replaced the fuel pump and the distributor pick up with OEM parts. The fault codes have not indicated that there is a problem other than disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.
  20. I have a dilemma with my 16 valve. It will run for 20 or 30 minutes then shuts down. If I let it sit for another 20 or 25 minutes it starts again and the same cycle repeats. Can anyone give me some insight on what the problem may be?
  21. My old TC was totaled and I needed another car, I longed for a 16 valve and searched near and far. I found that elusive auto and thought it was a prize, It didn’t take very long ‘til the troubles did arise. First it was the wiper link, then the brakes went bad, Soon followed the old fuel pump, but still I wasn’t mad. The timing belt was iffy as were the hoses too, I quickly changed them all, but still I wasn’t through. Faint sounds from the horn meant that it’s kaput, And in the Italian wiring some Gremlins were afoot. The ignition went kerflooey and then it wouldn’t start, I dug into the system and tore the thing apart. I called upon the forum to help me fix it right, Hemi, Turbo Kane and Reaper responded to my plight. With diligence I did work on that damned old heap, Hours turned to days and weeks: then the months did creep. So now the engine purrs, its 16 valves are exotic, But one thing to remember, this car can drive you neurotic! I may not be a poet laureate but I wanted to relate the masochistic joy of owning a Chrysler's TC by Maserati!! Many thanks to the support and practical advise that this forum provides.
  22. Auto Zone has them, but the site says they are not available for Chrysler's TC by Maserati.
  23. Hi Nile, I replaced my old sailcloth top with a tan Hartz on my V6 TC years ago. The Hartz top is expensive. I appreciated the look and feel much better than the original but you must use a good sealant on the top. It seems to stain easily. I used the Ragg Top products and we're pleased with them. My current 16 valve has an original sailcloth in A1 condition and I use the Ragg Top products with great results on that material. When and if I have to replace it I will go with the Hartz.
  24. Are there really only 40 of the 16 valves left? According to the auction that's about it. I wasn't aware the AACA had that information.
  25. Hi Hemi, thanks for the tip. I just ordered it.
