  1. Very nice horn ring, 49 and 50 3 spoke with painted center. Minor pitting as shown in close up, ring is really clean with no pitting, screw threads that hold the center are also very nice, not rotted. Shows spots of old tape glue but past that very nice driver quality ring. I think $150 shipped in the lower 48 is a friendly price, what do you think? Pics below, Postal MO preferred, message me here or text to:

  2. Like the title says, and my research shows the same player under other numbers as well. Very nice condition, no way to test but looks nice inside. A little shelf worn and as seen has a floor  bracket vs dash mount. There's a glue spot on top that I didn't bother to try and clean, I'll leave that to you. Prices are all over place to establish value but I think I'll offer this at $300 including flat rate US shipping. Kool option/accy.

  4. Love the looks, as Joel is saying style is truly everywhere. Also I too am 6'2" and driving them is a rather dismal experience for me. The main top center bow is directly overhead. I constantly had to droop my head to avoid bumping it while driving. Steering is what you'd expect, that too was aptly described. Still even giving it some quarter for the most obvious things I found it to be the most dismal and disappointing Classic Car driving experience p e r i o d. Foot position, who in the Great Googly Moogly thought putting the gas pedal UNDER the brake pedal was a good idea? Sure you could get used to it but fast and fancy footwork isn't happening in anything over a size 7 😳. Power and speed, well the power is there, but both of the cabriolets I drove were pretty nervous at anything over 45, maybe 50. I had a Model A pickup at the time that wasn't happy below 40 and happier yet at 50. I dunno about y'all but I'd be mad as .... if someone passed my 6 figure L-29 with ease in a Model A. I understand it's a gearing/final drive ratio issue but😏

They're beautiful, I actually prefer the sedans or Broughams, and I've only driven cabriolets. To me they're a very sultry swanky lady, but when she talks...😩

  5. Ask him if its the V-8 model, you've been looking for one of those for a while. I told a suspected scammer I was going to be in Houston (bogus locale) in 2 days and I could pick up an axle in person. He said I had to pay in full 1st, so i said I'll take the chance, it's only 2 days. 2 day later i asked for directions to pick up the axle, said it was sold. "I figured a pile of $@i! scammer like you are would say exactly that. It was for sale for 5 weeks but gone in 2 days. Right..." I knew it was a scammer and strung it out. I've asked others really stupid questions and they answer yes. Play it out. Turn em in wherever you find them.

  6. Trunk isn't hateful, pretty dadgum solid. There's some rust in the cowl and floor on the left side. Trunk extensions are still solid and nice as are the lowers. Left rocker is crispy but fixable, right side is nice. And this is an intact drivable car with very little input, but it deserves to be resurrected to as new. Every option, lovely colors, irrefutable authenticity, correct carbs, whisper quiet engine (alhough the exhaust needs replaced), good to very good diecast. The interior will clean up and it's all still soft and supple so no worries. Body has had some minor repairs over the years but nothing that screams "Oh my god!", just some fixing. Not some mudded up restoration, a natural and complete real GS that begs to be done. Click my link and check it out. No, I will not disclose my reserve. 😉

  7. That metallic color was called "Bruce Blue", and sometimes the chassis in color was done at the dealer. If it was used as a demo that would explain it better. I also notice the seldom seen "Butt Walnut" in place of the usual burled walnut on the moldings and instrument panel. The early build sort of checks that box too.

  8. The 2nd owner/family got it from the original owner who they knew well. They got it some time in the 70s. I heard of the car through a friend of a friend, checked it out and now it's here. Not much more to share other than it seems to have been kept up ok but shows its age. All in all though I think it's pretty special. 1st cleaning:

  9. Took her for a better ride yesterday. Holy defecation!! I was rolling hard, WFO in low gear, hit second and it started doing a full burnout...from a 40 roll! I miss that man, I really do. A little judicious tuning, I could lose my license in short order...😳

My 63 has the Guidematic, Twilight sentinel, four note horns, and cornering lights but I do not know if any of these were available in 1965.  I really like that white interior. You are correct in what you say about the cruise and speed alert.

It also has the auto headlights or headlight dimmer with the eye on the dash pad so yes I guess it was available.

  11. Ait, tilt, cruise, rear defog, power windows and vents, am/FM front n rear speaker, power antenna, power seat, power vacuum trunk release, tinted glass, rear armrest. I don't think there was anything else available. If I have my research right you could not get speed alert with cruise control, and the speed select was for the cruise. Purchased new by the exec secretary of a GM VP. The kool factor is off the hook...😉

  12. I'm late to this party but if you haven't done it yet...

How to bend, it's tedious but with patience and maybe a helper you'll get near perfect results. Start at the beginning with 1 or 2 nails installed, then bend just enough for the next one...then the next...then the next...then the, well you get the idea. Having it firmly in place helps maintain the shape as you go. Same for metal top trim which used to be available from Snyders Model A n T parts. Good folks there. Good luck, or congrats if you already did it.

  13. Did this ever get sorted out? Those Mr Gasket regulators were a "must have" fashion item 20 years ago. They fail. Imported species. Also, the electric pump should allow fuel to pull thru when it's not running. They too go bad and don't allow fuel to pass whether on or off (just sorted one this summer).

  14. Looks like you never got an answer. Let's begin, shall we. The top and bottom "cone" covers are just that, covers. To get them off try some gentle heat then let candle wax drizzle into the crack around the edge. Warm it again, then find a spot and tap it off. If it's really stuck on there here's another trick. Get it a bit hotter, then shock it with cold water. IMPORTANT;  KEEP THE HEAT ON THE COVER. The ends are a can type affair with a floating weight inside and springs top and bottom. I've heard some say how fearful you should be diassembling. Don't. Yes there are springs, yes under tension, no it isn't like a suspension coil spring. If you're lucky the damping oil for the floating weight stayed in and that part will come out easy. The "cans" will probably be stuck to the bumpers. Warm just the bumpers and keep waxing where they slide in. If the wax doesn't work you may have to go to a bit of an extreme. Mix 50/50 acetone and type F trans fluid SYNTHETIC TRANS FLUID DOESN'T WORK. That mix is among the best ever penetrant you'll ever use. Make up a pan big enough to soak the whole end. Once the caps are off there's a long bolt through the whole affair. Yes you want to exercise regular good ol safety protocols like acetone is flammable and it is spring loaded, but it's way less dramatic than what has been said by some. If you already got em apart good on you, but maybe someone else needs this info. Don't use heat for the trans fluid acetone soak, but it may take a few days to loosen all the pieces. There was somebody making new end caps, and finally to see what's under those caps, look at a 32 or 33 12 bumper. they were not capped, past that they're the same.
