While I have you here helping, perhaps you can recommend a place that does dash restoration. Have a 61 LeSabre Convt. that has cracks in the dash from sitting in the sun. Now housed inside. I can take pad off. Any experience with a restorer????

I went to the site and did a LiveChat. Got into and price. Looks good. I'll change out the rears, but think the fronts are bad as well. Before I got car, had been sitting for quite a while. Engine less than 90K, inside well preserved, nothing drastic. Good cleaning. Thanks very much for the info. I'll do business with them

Where did U purchase from? I see Eaton Springs widely advertised. I guess they are pretty good. Is this where you obtained yours?? Thanks for your help.

How can I raise the rear end on this car? Problem not getting better, needless to say. Soon to start restoration. Ever since I have owned, the rear end has always sagged. Difficult changing rear tires. Need to get rear raised in order to move car and repair. Has anyone used these devices that raise the springs? If so, please recommend. To make car level, font springs may have to raised as well.
Any and all advice urgently needed. Thanks to All. GO BUICK!!

I see Walmart sells Mercon/Dextron as well. The automakers give licenses to these companies to make these fluids under strict quality controls. I'll add Walmart brand to the list. Thanks to All for your help!

Add to it when you do one
Those are great videos IF you own/have a 1955 Buick. I was hoping that someone (perhaps a professional rebuilder) might have the time to provide a video or two of the various Dynaflows. For example, there are differences between the earlier units and the later ones. I have several 61-63 units, as well as 59 and one 60. Just thinking out loud it might be a time saver for some to view a complete teardown and assembly. Like the old saying goes: A picture is worth a thousand words. (It's true!!)

Can you send a picture? Removes all doubt. Mine measures a shade over 17 inches long. There is a reflector at the end. will look for your picture.

I am going to taking apart about three Dynaflow transmissions I have been lugging around for years now. I want to tear the units down and store parts for future use.
They will be stored in strong storage plastic bins. Anyone done this before? What should I wrap the parts in? Newspaper, plastic, etc. Want to make sure whatever I use, it will hold up and be protective.
Thanks All!!

Need armrest for my convertible. Am not sure if 62, 63 or 64 work, but it measures about 17 inches long. It can be used either on drivers or passenger side. MUST be from convertible. No others will work. Please send price ASAP. Thanks to All for your help. Not to worry about the padding. Base must be complete, with reflector at the end.

Bob: Thanks for your reply. Hope someone will take the hint and perform a great service for all of us with a video (or two).
I have compiled a list of transmission shops across the country that have experience rebuilding the Dynaflow. The operators of these shops will soon depart us, leaving very few others who have knowledge and experience to repair these babies. I know of no 'younger' rebuilders who know anything about the Dynaflow. (You should see the looks on their face when you say "Dynaflow." LOL

One thing that would be helpful would be Dynaflow rebuild videos. Especially for those of us who have some mechanical experience and the facility to do such an undertaking. I see many posts from individuals who want to try and rebuild their units. While it is a big project, for those with patience and a mechanical background, it can be done.
Just planting a seed for anyone or any shop that would be inclined. Here's another suggestion:
Videos could showcase certain portions of a Dynaflow rebuild. ie, torque converter, front pump, direct drive clutches and repairing reverse when the reverse strut breaks.
I'd like to hear from others about this idea. GO BUICK!

Hello. Want to make sure that the drum that holds the front clutches is the same from 1957 to 1963 (?). Don't have access to part numbers, hence my inquiry.
Have a 59 unit that I want to dis-assemble for good parts. My 61 unit has bad clutches. So I have the correct steels and frictions; just need to know the drum is the same.
Thanks very much for your help!!

Hello. After several years of restoring my 61 Buick, I now want to change the tranny fluid. However, I cannot find Dextron anywhere. I see Mercon-Dextron fluid, but cannot find the latest version of Dextron.
Isn't Dextron being sold any longer?
If Dextron is available, what brand should I purchase.
Many Thanks for your help!
