  1. wouldn't the plural of felloe be fellers?:D and just wondering... if for the simplicity of it... couldn't i just brush the 's+l' onto the ends without removing the wheels (and laying them flat) and deal with the runoff... or brush on 's+l' over the entire spoke/ felloe? and is 's+l' available at home depot/ lowes/ ace/ truevalue ?? thanks!!!

  2. there's about 13' of rubber fuel lines... 6.5' 5/16" , 6.5' 1/4" just ahead of gas tank and before fuel pump (filter located there) but maybe they are ok (for a short while)... just blow them backwards from the fuel pump connections to make sure they are clear and hold some pressure.

  3. walmart now sells 'accel' sae 10w-40 'SF' oil. bought a quart... haven't tried it yet. 'accel' doesn't appear to be like the hi-po ignition brand. nice safaris btw... had a '56 back in '68 and the lifters would clack with brand 'v' oil. changed to castrol and no clack. kendall is a good oil.... just need to be a heavier grade.

  4. at walmart is 'accel' sae 10w-40 'SF' oil for 1988 and earlier. don't know if it's any good.... bought a quart and going to add it when needed. 'accel' doesn't look anything like the hi-po ignition brand. paid about $2.40 for the quart.

  5. now the update... removed rubber line at fuel pump and poured carb cleaner to the brim of the hose. applied air pressure and blew back to tank. now the line is open. hooked back together but pump only sucked air. replaced both lengths of rubber lines (6 1/2 feet) on main supply line (the old hose appeared origional and so did the clamps). now it works!!! next i will replace the return line hose. thanks again for the tips!:)

  6. i'm not up to speed with buicks (and anything else... ) but it would seem that perhaps the bellhousing and crankshaft bolt pattern might be the same. for sure just about everything else would be different.... requiring adaption (forgive the spelling). one way to find out.... tear into it!! (in my opinion if the price of the older trans is more than $50... it wouldn't be worth the hasle. (bad spelling again)):o

  7. you can click on your handle/name in the upper right corner then click on 'show all satistics' then 'find all posts by xxxx'. then you can see your posts and click on those threads to see it all (unless that thread has been deleated by a moderator/censor.):o

  8. most important (well... almost) is if you can fit behind the wheel. a lot of the earlier cars are a tight fit for anybody like me (6'3"). it is really tight behind the wheel of my '23 buick 4 cyl. touring.

  9. l like them all.... however, in order, i prefer origional stock, then restored stock, then slightly modified, then hot rods and customs. main point is to see old stuff being used, enjoyed, and appreciated by many. yes, i may be slightly disapointed to see a stock car (especially a nice condition one) be greatly modified.... but this is a free country !!!!! my attitude has changed...heck- back in 1979 i took my $50.00 1952 buick (missing engine and trans) and put it on a 4x4 truck chassis. but.... at least it saw many more miles and smiles... and i've still have it! it is time for a redo. (the '23 is stock in case you're wondering. and will remain so.)
