1. Thanks, Tom. Good description. Saved me a week rooting around.
2. BTW. Jake Fleming doesn't supply a kit. He lead me to Narrangansett.
3. I called Ed at Narranganset. The kit is a relay and some wiring to make the fender running lights stop lights. It also comes with a switch to return the circuit to stock for shows (if that matters to you). A bit spendy at $280 USD, but probably worth saving the time and aggravation. I get my aggravation from slamming my thumb in doors, so I don't need any other methods. My time, I plan to spend on trying to get my Warner 2 speed to work properly.
4. I need to get behind the interior door panel so I can figure out why my windeow cranks so hard, door catch isn't working and door lock button won't move. Anyway...lots of issues. However, except for the two little Phillips screws at the bottom of the panel, I can't see how the push button (it's a '41 Continental btw) , window cranks come off as it appears these must be removed to get the panel off to see the mechanisms behind.
5. I just rejoined the club and haven't received my membership directory, yet. Do you have Jake's contact info. I would really like three stop lights.
6. My car is missing this knob. I must also be missing the entire apparatus that connects the 'knob' to the OD. Is this a mechanical connection, or an electrical one? If anyone has said bits, please contact me. Scott 720-289-2153
7. "OD handle"? I must be missing this apparatus. Where is this, and how is it connected to the rest of the car?
8. Thanks Peecher. I'll take it apart and find out what's in there. I assume it's stock, but I just don't know.
9. PRoblem solved...at least for now. Starter was binding just enough with the flywheel that on hot starting, it dragged the battery down. After shimming and coaxing the starter to be perpendicular to the flywheel, the issue is resolved.
10. This is a great forum. I'd probably be about 98 yo before I finished this project without this reseource. Come to think of it....this project may never get finished....even with this help. But, it will get a lot closer to done. Thanks again.S
11. Ford tells me that for my VIN# my Continental was Zephyr Blue. I want to get his right, so where does one find this color so a modern paint can be formulated to match?
12. I've been told that the Warner 2 speed in my '41 Continental is an automatic affair that engages by itself by sensing torque output. True or false?
13. I understand there is a kit that allows me to convert the rear fender lights to brake lights on my '41 Continental. Can anyone help me find the source of these? I'd feel safer with three tiny little brake lights than just one Cyclops.
14. Found it. Right where you described. I had to remove about 0.1000" of paint, but it was there! Never would have found it without your help. Thanks.
15. Just got my dad's sea level Continental to her new home here in Colorado. Seems like she's running a bit rich up here. Anybody got any advice regarding how to adjust for higher altitude (5300' MSL) running?
16. I found my VIN in this location, but the number is H117898. It does not begin with 7H. Is this because it is a 1941 and not post war?
17. Where is this supposed to be on my '41 Continental?
18. Yes, that's right. The assembly that is not reproduced. Mine is a bit far gone to restore, probably. Take a look: But, I have never even seen what it is supposed to look like, so don't know if I could make one out of what I have. Any leads appreciated. Thanks in advance. S
19. The assembly that holds the running light and stop light for my '41 is so corroded I'm not sure it can be saved. Any ideas appreciated.
20. Need skirts for '41 Connie. Scott 720-289-2153 scott.shuler@colostate.edu
21. Anybody know if this cap will fit my 41? 1942 51 Ford Lincoln Mercury Flathead Kaiser Cadillac Radiator Cap 4lb AC | eBay
22. What brand/item number/source is the 8 volt battery? What do you mean by 'increase the charge rate'?
23. Hi, I need to get my Dad's 1941 Lincoln Continental from Aberdeen, NC to Fort Collins, CO by the most economical/responsible means possible. Does anyone have any recommendations? Car is not a concours restoration and does not need to be in covered trailer, but I would prefer she not be shuffled from trailer to trailer on the way. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Scott
24. How far above the manifold does that assembly extend?
25. That one looks nothing like either of the ones I have. Here's the inside of it: and the lid
