Rrrnay
Hi,I'm hoping someone can help me identify this engine and tranny that were previously holding up one corner of my garage. The starter and generator are clearly marked 'Chrysler Corporation'The id numbers are:Engine casting number: 860129-5Engine ID:P10*I38445B (the 1's could also be "i"s), the asterisk is a starTranny casting: 1138238-3Starter: MZ-4062Numbers on generator: GDZ-4801-A 1U 9871 and reads "external current contr"The previous owner of my house could only tell me that it came from an old truck but nothing more. Thanks for looking!Renee
Bob Kinker
Originally that engine was in a Plymouth car. The P 10 designation say that. Where are you located?

Guest De Soto Frank
According to "Std. Catalog of Chrysler: 1914-2000", the "P-10" designation is the year/model code for a 1940 Plymouth. And, Plymouth did make a pick-up truck in 1940...does the transmission have a long floor-shift lever coming out of its top ? Rrrnay
No shift lever attached...just the exterior connection points for the emergency brake, etc. Here's a large photo of the tranny.ThanksRenee
Guest De Soto Frank
Okay, so whatever this came out of had a steering-colum gear shift...I'd vote for 1940 Plymouth car...
Guest JT
The starter and generator are correct for a 40 Plymouth.
