Mars Posted August 5, 2018 Share Posted August 5, 2018 30 cf 4dr. Working on the temp gauge. There are two lugs on back. One has a wire to ignition switch and a second wire going to the amp gauge, the other is empty, no wire. The wire going to the ignition is barely holding on . Strip and reattach. I'm thinking the other lug goes to the sending unit. Maybe the gauge does work after all. Thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Spinneyhill Posted August 6, 2018 Share Posted August 6, 2018 (edited) Do you have the sending unit in the head? This shows the wire going into the loom near the starter motor. The wire comes out of the other end of the loom behind the dash and goes to a terminal on the "thermometer (panel unit)". The other terminal on the gauge has a wire to the bottom terminal on the coil and a wire goes from there to the ammeter. This is how it is shown on the wiring diagram in the Instruction Book.
