bobg1951chevy
Cannot find a "proper place" to post my question, so I'll ask here. My '51 has a right side visor, which was not re-installed after new headliner was added. I have attempted to install the "shaft" which is part of the visor, into the visor mounting bracket, which is fastened to the roof / headliner area. The rod does not want to "connect", or interlock with the bracket. My fear is if I push too hard, the mounting bracket will break. Any suggestions welcome, I can take pics, if you believe pics would help.
mercer09
I believe the bracket needs to be "opened" a little with a screwdriver or such.

mercer09
yes I know. Believe that is what I had to do and then tighten down screw.

I did try to spread the bracket, after removing the screw, no dice, it would not allow the shaft to couple up.. Another gent suggested putting the visor shaft into the freezer overnight, thereby shrinking the shaft diameter. I did that, in the freezer, 8 hours or so. Next day, the shaft went into the bracket with no issues.
