Jprez006
Hey folks, I'm replacing the original water pump on my 71 Riviera. It is recommended that I replace the fan clutch while I'm at it. Which fan clutch do I need? Thermal or non-thermal? My Riviera has air conditioning if that helps. Thank you in advance, Jason.
Jprez006
Welp, I think I figured it out. I have to check at the fan assembly hub to see if there are fins or louvre looking slits on it. There are. Therefore it is a thermal fan clutch that I need. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Seafoam65
If you look at the side of the clutch that faces the radiator and you see a bimetal coil on the front of it that looks like the bimetal coil on an electric choke box, you have a thermal clutch.
