  1. Agreed. I've already filled one looseleaf binder, halfway through my second one. I love the Riview.
  2. Welp, I think I figured it out. I have to check at the fan assembly hub to see if there are fins or louvre looking slits on it. There are. Therefore it is a thermal fan clutch that I need. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
  3. Hey folks, I'm replacing the original water pump on my 71 Riviera. It is recommended that I replace the fan clutch while I'm at it. Which fan clutch do I need? Thermal or non-thermal? My Riviera has air conditioning if that helps. Thank you in advance, Jason.
  4. Kreed, thanks for the kind words. Your boattails are beautiful. Thank you for sharing the pics. I look forward to the day that my 71 looks half as good as yours!
  5. Hey there folks, I'm a new member at ROA, and proud to be one. Here is my 1971 Buick Riviera survivor, owned by the same family since it was bought brand new in 1971 from the local Buick dealer in Gunnison, CO. It is my second 71 Riv and will be with me for the remainder of it's/my days! I picked it up about 4-5 months ago just after it finished a 10 year stint at the Gunnison pioneer museum, here in Colorado. The pic with me in it is taken just after I was handed the title, across the street from the previous owners house. This Riv has bought happiness back into my life. I love her! I just need to find someone trustworthy, who knows THESE cars, in CO to do some freshening up and upgrades under the hood. She will need paint and a top but I'm not worried about that just yet, first things first, the guts!! (P.S. I just realized, as I was going through the pages in this thread, that I posted a few pics of my car back in July. Sorry for the repost.)
  6. Thank you sir. I will look into these options. You are right, I would like it to be a little sportier. I want it to be an upgrade from stock, but not go against the way the car was designed to handle. Thank you.
  7. Hey there, Hope all are well on this fine day. I need to swap out my 46 year old shocks and springs on my 1971 Riviera. I don't want to make the wrong decision and am looking for any kind of advice. I'm sure suspension has come a long way since back then. If anyone can lead me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Any and all help is appreciated. If you have any links, that would also be great. Thanks in advance, Jprez006
  8. Here is my 71 Riviera. Just picked it up 5 days ago. I had a 71 Riviera about 15 years ago, I was young and dumb, didn't pay my parking tickets in NYC and the car was taken away. I have always wanted to make it right, this is my redemption.
