1951 Hornet Engine and Trans C/L Yuma, AZ

Recommended Posts

Here's a link to a Craigslist ad for a '51 Hornet engine and trans for sale in Arizona. The cast iron head on the engine has a tag that recommends using premium fuel and has a part number of 305854 (I think). It's been so long since I've seen this head that I can't quite recall it. Was this high compression head just the standard cast iron head that was milled from the factory, or was their something else about it that made it special?
