Guest searle1965@gmail.com
Thanks Larry. A little history on the wrecker : It was purchased new by my grandfather and was hit by a train in 1927 with my grandfather, grandmother, two aunts and my father in the car at the time. Somehow, none were seriously injured. The local garage bought the car and made the wrecker out of it. I had always believed the car to be a ' 28 because I knew my grandfather had a '28 but that must be the car he replaced the wrecked one with. Supposedly, the garage wanted it because of the low-end power of the six-cylinder engine so I guess that part of the story is correct. Thank you both for helping me with a little family history. Larry Schramm
Lots of higher end, larger engine cars were made into wreckers in the day because of their power. Edited May 2, 2016 by Larry Schramm (see edit history)
