skipsmustang1965
Hello - I am restoring a '35 Pontiac with body style number 2109 A. Unfortunately sometime during the life of the car someone took a '60's front truck axle, cut it half because it was too long and then welded it back together with a support plate. One of the leaf springs was also donated from the '60's truck. They also got creative and welded another part (unrelated to the front suspension) to make everything fit together. My Pontiac originally would have had the solid front axle and it appears the '36 Master Pontiacs used the same solid front axle with the elliptical leaf springs. My question is what year and model Chevy's used this same type of front suspension? I am having no luck finding a '35 or '36 Pontiac parts car so hopefully someone can help me. If anyone has suggestions on where I might be able to find this suspension I would greatly appreciate any and all feedback. Thank You!
PONTIAC1953
the pontiac body was shared with chevy, but the pontiac chassis was very closely related to the oldsmobile, so you should have better luck looking at the same vintage oldsmobile models.
