John_Mc
Guys, I've traced my non-working gas gauge down to a float.....that no longer floats well enough to provide an accurate reading. Anyone know where to get one? Should I just go to plastic??? Can I make one???
peecher
New floats are available from Mac's Auto Parts, $8.95. They also have gaskets or a complete sending unit if needed. 877-230-9680
John_Mc
Well I did go and look at the Mac's piece but I instead went to the ACE and picked up some cork and a tube of Seal-All. I'll try to fix it myself. SHould work, but I'll keep you posted.
trimacar
A cork will work fine. And, you don't need to coat it, a cork won't absorb gasoline for decades.Let the debate begin, but as Lily Tomlin said, " it's da trutt!"
