Guest dodgedaddy
How can I tell the difference in a 49 vs a 50 model? I can find no tags on frame or door jamb, the paperwork that we have with the truck has both years. Is there something about the bodies that will give me a lead as to what I have? Thanks in advance for the help.

Guest dodgedaddy
I will try that thanks!! I also thought that the 50's model came with 3 speed on the column. This one has the shifter in the floor.

c49er
The truck serial (VIN) number is on the drivers side of the frame just behind the front spring hanger. Wire brush and sand VERY well to find it. It is a light stamping. It will ID the truck year and build location ect.Bob

Guest dodgedaddy
Hey Countrytravler, I am still having trouble finding the number on the frame. The best I can tell the number on the motor is 11D42-300654-E. Anything you can do to ID this would be great. Thanks for the help.
countrytravler
D42 would be a 51-52 Dodge car engine. Original should be somewhere in the T160s. The picture in post #6 shows how light the numbers can be. Lower picture posted shows the general location according to 49er.
