farrellg
Need some help. Getting ready to align the body panels on my 1931 Express Truck. I assume placement of the welting is similar to cars. Does the welting go under the splash shields or over them on the frame? Or both? And does it extend all the way to the front under the frame trim pieces (front of cab to radiator)? Help! vintchry
Typically George, the welting as you call it or webbing as it is typically sold, goes under and over the aprons. I have seen it just under before, but not commonly. The webbing also goes under the hood shelves to their ends.Rob Burchillhattiesgarage@comcast.net
farrellg
Rob, thanks for the info. There wasn't enough left on my projects to determine exactly where.
farrellg
Related question, on the beaded fender welt, is there a specific bead size? Also, I know it goes along the fenders, but how about where the running board meets the splash shields?
farrellg
Just refreshing this tread. Looking for information on any welting that was between splash guard and running board or were fender and running board meets?
