Claes Rocklin
The caps are made of aluminium. There are at least three styles that will fit my car. Pressed alumimium, casted aluminium and there is also a version with a riveted faceplate. These caps have an innerdiameter of 71 millimetres from thread to thread. Claes Rocklin
Dear Nickel Roadster. My 1920 Stephens restoration goes very slowly. Have had a complicated work with the missing sills. Had to figure out what they should look like as they were missing when I brought this car home. The former owner had replaced the sills with a sheet of plywood and planks from the lumberyard and also nailed the front backrest on place. It was very painful to see. Before I took the body apart I did a very careful examination. Wrote down the existing measurements and used them when I made my first attempt to build up the new framework. I soon realized they were all wrong. Had to tear down parts of the body and take a break, but finally after a lot of searching I got in touch with a guy in Iowa who had a similar car, a 1921 model 96 . He provided most of the measurements I needed. Today the wooden framework looks all right and a skilled tinsmith has promised to take look on the body. Still missing the jumpseats.Best regards Claes
