jpage
Can anyone tell me the correct procedure to shift a 1950 GMC dash mounted vacuum 2 speed axle. This is not my truck but a freind's. We were driving it last night and he used this type of truck when he was younger but only shifted from low to high range once when upshifting. He doesn't want to try split shifting. Do you depress the clutch first and then switch the selector before shifting ? He said to switch the selector and then let off the gas but when doing this the unit engages immediately with a jolt. Any suggestions will help. Thanks Jim
