Guest Vetteman61
Hello,A friend of the family bought a Cushman that is just like the one he had when he was a kid. He asked if I could get it running. I believe it needs a carb rebuild but I know almost nothing about Cushmans, so I'm not sure if it has the correct carb or what kit to buy.Could anyone steer me in the right direction? Thanks,Brandon

Guest Vetteman61
Thanks for the response. I need to know if the carburetor is correct for the engine or if the engine is original type of engine that came with this bike so I can know what type of carb kit to buy.Brandon
CarlLaFong
The engine appears correct for that Eagle. The carb is a Tillotson MT and there should be just one kit that covers them all. The kit is just a few gaskets and a needle and seat. If it's not leaking, then it probably doesn't need a kit. Those old Cushmans can sit for 40-50 years and fire right up with a good cleaning and fresh gas and oil. Take the carb apart and hit it good with carb spray or brake clean. Be sure you're getting a good, hot spark and you should be good
