Coley
I bought this nice old luggage trunk at an estate sale that has a "PACKARD MOTOR CAR COMPANY DETROIT" tag on the lower front panel. It has stainless latches (no keys) and stainless braces on all the corners. The hinges are stainless also. The edges are covered with leather. It is 28" wide and 17 3/4" tall. The back side is curved to fit a sedan body. West Peterson
I'm not sure what the "curved" back looks like. Can you provide a profile photo? With a curved back, I'd say 1934 or earlier, and probably no older than 1928??? West Peterson
I think that is a trunk that fits up close to the body of a club sedan. It does not sit on the foldable trunk rack. So, my first thought may be correct in that it's pre 1934.Here's one, though the turnk itself looks a little different. Yours may be slightly older since it is not as rounded.http://www.tomlaferriere.com/2009CarsForSale/1933Packard1004ClubSedan/1933PackardClubSedaninDriveway%20007.jpg
Coley
Thanks for the info. Mine would fit close to the body. Anyone looking for one?
West Peterson
Start a post in the Packard Buy/Sell forum. Go to the main page and scroll down. Ebay would be another good place to make it available.
