  4. Saved,if that's the word,a frame and partial body from a scrapyard. All the parts are in rough condition. Would not have done it for a sedan but these I thought should be saved. I'll post a few pics and if there are any questions I can send more detailed pictures. What I have are as follows. Left and right rear quarters. Rear panel that goes between quarter panels. Top panel just before trunk lid. Trunk lid. Running boards. Panels that go from under the body over the frame that running boards attach to. Cowl. Misc. parts. All are very rough. Use as patterns or depending on your skill set repair. $500.00 gets everything. Prefer to sell as a group as shipping would be costly. Located in Delano,MN.30 miles west of Minneapolis.

  16. Hello to all. I have been asked to help sell a Marmon 6 engine.I was told it was either a 1926 or 27,has a aluminum crankcase and the head has plugs on both sides. It has been stored indoors for many years but I have not seen it yet so I cannot give a full description or add pictures at this time. Sorry to make this look and sound like a "fishing expedition" but I know nothing about these engines and wanted to ask here to gauge interest and find out what I should look for when I do go look at it and get pictures. The engine came from a boat and did turn over but that was a while ago.I cannot say what it may need to make it a running engine. The owner has not discussed a price yet but understands this is not a V-12 or a V-16. I hope to get pictures this weekend and as I said I want to know what to look for when I go. Any comments are appreciated.
  17. Still need answers to the old wheels.Anyone?
  18. Wheel bolt pattern 5x 1/2 18 1/2 outside diameter...17" tireI would imagine. What are these from?? KMC temp gauge that looks like it would screw into a cylinder head. Any idea what it was used on??
  19. There are a lot of talented younger kids building cars who enjoy the tinkering with carburetors and all things mechanical. They are hot rodders which to some are a scourge as they seem to destroy not cherish the stock automobile and yet they take on projects deemed not worthy of restoration and get the vehicle back on the road. There are those whose mechanical skills lay in the building of their own computers...soldering motherboards, designing and building cabinets not unlike those who built hi-fi's in the 50's and 60's. The Mechanics Illustrated and Popular Mechanics monthly magazines have been replaced by online forums or e-zines. Even "back in the day" (choose your generation) there were those who did repairs and built what they wanted and those who didn't. Be honest and without counting family members or relation how many people did anyone know who built much of the articles in Mech Ill or Pop Mech? While the skill sets we grew up and and value may seem to be lost on the current youths many have skill sets that fit this era.
  20. Not exactly true.'58 arms are a direct bolt in for my application,'59-'60 are not.

  22. Are the 3 front fender trim spears different lengths between models? A relative has a New Yorker and I found a Windsor in a small salvage yard that has the trim. I believe the New Yorker should be longer but need to confirm. Not going to remove the trim unless it will work.
