  1. Hey all, The energy just isn't here to give the car what it needs. YEAR: 1965 MAKE_NAME: BUICK MODEL_NAME: LE SABRE http://www.geocities.com/bigredbuick/what.htm PRICE: $3,500 OBO. Will consider trade for airboat or 4x4. Weblink says $4,500 consider this message a 25% off coupon DESCRIPTION: 1965 BUICK LE SABRE, This is a 1965 Buick convertible 300ci V8, red on red with good top. The car runs well enough to be a daily driver but I tend to spend most of my driving time in my F-150 so she stays in the garage unless I'm cruising. Originally purchased in the Daytona area 4 years ago and was driven all the way home to the south Broward area of south Florida. It drives even nicer now since the new carb and exhaust system went in. No smoke and a nice smooth idle once you let her warm up. The interior is okay for a driver but could use a nice makeover. No radio. The top is about three years old and the car stays in the garage for the most part. Nice liner and zip-out rear window. The right rear quarter has a long ripple in it from the previous owner's encounter with an elderly driver in a parking lot. My family and I have had a lot of good times in this car, so why am I selling it? No time for this project and I'm moving on to other toys. I don't have to sell it, I 'd just like to see it reach its potential with someone who appreciates it. Make me an offer! Interesting trades will be considered. (954) 993 0808 bigredbuick@yahoo.com -R
  2. I normally don't do FS postings but I ran into a guy that has a 67 Riviera for sale that looks like a pretty good deal. No, I don't know him. Looks like he's in West Virginia. 3. Cool! Just found this info in the Buy/Sell forum. Should shave off some time finding a fit...<P><--snipped--><BR>Application: 1965-66 B-body convertible, 2-dr hardtop, and 4-dr hardtop (NOT sedan), including Buick LeSabre/Wildcat; Chevrolet Impala/Caprice; Pontiac Catalina/Bonneville; Olds 88.
  4. Hmm... I'd be happy just to see more than two Buicks in a row down here in North Cuba (aka South Florida). -R
  5. Thanks for the tip MartinSR. I took a good look at the dash ans it turns out it's probably salvagable <whew!>. I'm going to make some calls on the windshield tomorrow, hopefully it isn't that much of a hassle.<P>-R
  6. Nice patch, although the ocean-motion cam wobble makes me a little woozy <BR>BTW, I've got a tripod I'll let go pretty cheap
  7. I had one of those aluminum 215s in a TR8. It sounded manly enough but I expect those reverb box thingys back a ways from the tip of the exhaust helped.
  8. Check with this guy. Maybe he'll buy the whole lot?<BR> <A HREF="http://www.autobooksbishko.com/" TARGET=_blank>http://www.autobooksbishko.com/</A> <P>-R
  9. Hi all,<BR>Been a while but I'm back in the game and am looking to push forward on some bodywork. I'm trying to buy some parts in anticipation of a $7k/5 month job on my 65 Lesabre (Yep. It's $7k in the Buick or $7k on an econobox that'll have a crumbling interior in 5 years). Anyhow, the glass has gotten loose up front and there's a lot of rust under the dash and I'll definitely be needing that sheetmetal pan thing there. I typically have a bear of a time finding parts for this car. Anyone know of a source or at least a cross-listed part (compatible in another GM car maybe?) I'm grateful for any help!<P>P.S. Hey Ray/Ironhunter! Check your mail!
  10. ...and the fact that it (current Camaro) is built like a house trailer (IMO)...
  11. I'll wait for the driving impressions. The front end looks a little bland to me in spite of the funky treatment. I agree with 86 on what Buick should be thinking about.<P>Then again, I don't golf like Mr. Woods nor do I play the part of a their younger, affluent demographic <p>[ 11-20-2001: Message edited by: BigRedBuick ]
  12. I was running around deja.com tonight and found this info (maybe the soft poly nature of the Duro may help with muffling sound sound);<P>"I used both the POR 15 and the liquid rust converter stuff (made by Duro?)<BR>Followed the directions for both. The POR 15 is hard and permanent! The other<BR>stuff starts out as a milky looking liquid and turns the rust black. The Duro<BR>stuff, when dry, appears to be like a soft polyurethane coating. (Judging by<BR>pressing a thumb nail into both.)"<P>???
  13. I'm having some work done on the raingutter under the back of my convertible top, and it looks like I have a good opportunity to get more aggressive with bodywork overall on this car. A couple questions;<P>Where am I going to SEE the difference in $2000 worth of bodywork and $4000? I have some rust repairs that are going to be made and I'm wondering if some of that price will translate into longevity of rust repair?<P>Also, my instrument panel/dashboard has seen its share of weather. Am I likely to find one in good shape, or should I resign myself to making the choice of either living with it or paying a bazillion dollars having it restored?<P>I'd like to bring the car up to a better level of condition, but a lot of the services I'm finding are prohibitively expensive, or don't cater to my non-muscle, non-Chevy, non-PreWar car.<P>Any advice?
  14. I suppose I'll have something worthwhile to add in a couple of weeks... The convertible top on my 65 Lesabre was too much for me to deal with so I put it in the shop. I'm having all of the stripping replaced with Steel parts and will be able to contribute then. -R
  15. Um, okay... I'll look, but there's barely enough room in the garage for the Lesabre, nevermind a 225. I think I'll just keep the Lesabre I have
