10. The time has come to test the waters for selling my Buick. Here are some of the details: Recently completed frame on restoration. I purchased from the original owner last year with 62k on the odometer. The speedo cable was broken when I bought it so I don't know if this is original mileage. This has been a California car all its life. 100 hours of body work finished with custom blue vapor "Lexus" clearcoat paint. The interior floors were sanded down, primered, coated with rust inhibiting/sound deadening paint. Additional sound insulation was also applied. The trunk floor was completely replaced due to water damage-not salt damage. The floor was coated with sound deadening insulation. During the body work the front and rear was changed to look like a 1970 GS including the hood. New carpets, custom Black and Grey cloth/velour seatcovers were installed. Much of the interior trim was reconditioned or replaced. Custom stereo/tape with four high end speakers were installed. Custom tachometer and guage package is also included. The original 350 was swapped for a rebuilt 455 with a mild cam, edelbrock manifold and a Holley 750 cfm carburetor. T/A shorty headers feed into a full dual exhaust with crossover and flowmasters. Transmission is a rebuilt turbo 350 with a B&M shift kit. One of a kind dual electric fans are installed in place of the stock setup. This car runs flawlessly. Up front the brakes were recently converted to disc with all new drums/shoes out back. The front suspension was rebuilt within the past two years. New Moog springs and KYB gas shocks are at all four corners. Here are some other features: New rebuilt tilt steering column with billet levers Wood steering wheel with Buick logo Brand new Black Vinyl top with glass rear window. The frame was stripped and painted before installation Complete new weatherstrip kit installed. Rechromed bumpers Left and right sport mirrors A/C removed but still complete ready for reinstall 15 x 7 Buick Ralleys with Brand new BFG Radial T/A's 235s New fuel pump Custom Floor Mats New Boot cover New high capacity radiator TONS more + Spare parts $15,000 obo Serious inquiries only please. This car is built to be a great driver - not a numbers matching collectable. It is a beautiful piece of American History. Please e-mail me for more info and photos - pnc1@earthlink.net
 11. Unfortunately I am considering selling my recently restored 1972 Buick Skylark Convertible. The car was purchased last year from the original owner and has been in California all its life. Odometer shows 63,000 miles but it wasn't working when I got the car. I was wondering if I could get some feedback on vehicle value based on the following info: Within last 12 months a frame on restoration including 100 hours of body and paint work. Custom silver blue color with black top and custom cloth interior. New rebuilt 455 engine with mild cam, performance manifold and Holley 750cfm carb. Custom T/A shorty headers and 2.5 inch exhaust with flowmasters. Rebuilt turbo 350 trans with B & M shift kit New radiator with custom dual electric fans New fuel pump 1970 GS hood, bumpers (rechromed), grille and headlight bezels. New black convertible top with glass window Custom cloth bench seat w/armrest New Black carpet kit New complete seal kit New trunk floor due to water damage (not salt) 15 x 7 rallyes with BFG Radial T/A's. Dual Sport Mirrors Custom 4 speaker hidden stereo TONS of new trim pieces Rebuilt tilt steering column w/ billet levers Rebuilt front end New disc brake conversion Brand new drums/shoes Custom guage package Alarm system with motion Custom wood steering wheel Over $20k invested. The car was built to be a fun, reliable driver and it needs nothing to be enjoyed. Appraised value for insurance was $17k two months ago. What do you think the market it for a car like this? If it proves to be less than expected I'll definately keep the car. e-mail me directly at pnc1@earthlink.net Thanks!
 12. www.buickperformance.com
I did the swap, beefed up the TH350 with a shift kit and a tranny cooler. So far so good. You'll need the 455 flex plate to make it work. Don't forget to grab it when you find a 455.
 13. Thanks for the input. The springs are original and well worn. Ride height shouldn't be a problem since I went with the shorty headers. I specifically went with the Eibachs because they were only a one inch drop compared to 2 and 3 with some springs. For some reason the Skylark sags in the rear (even since I swapped the 350 with a 455) and I wanted to even it out.
Handling is somewhat important so I have purchased front and rear swaybars (big improvement) and a set of KYB Gas-A-Just shocks.
The steering is so vague on these cars that noticing the improved handling is difficult.
Since the Eibachs cost about the same as a decent set of stock replacements I went with the progressive rate stuff.

Regards,
Derek
