dbtravis
Any creative ideas or helpful hints for removing a very stuck crank hole plug from my 1920 DB? The square end of the crank is a little small to really grab as good as it should, and the shape of the crank makes it impossible to put a piece of pipe or something like that on it for extra leverage. I don't want to strip it out. Anyone have any good ideas that don't require me taking the whole thing apart?
Jan Arnett
See if you can get a piece of dry ice and hold it onto the plug. Cut a piece of 2x4 the height of the plug on which you can lay the dry ice against the plug. As the plug cools it will shrink which should allow you to remove the plug. Hope this helps.
