PsychobillySquee
It looks as if this subject had been gone over before.. However.. My 51 Coronet has the Gyro-Matic transmission. I need to change the oil in the transmission. My service book from 49 to 53 says to use 10W oil. wich I have yet to be able to locate (I did find 20W). Some places it says to switch to Mercon and yet others say they are using 10W30 or up to 20W50. I would prefer to stick to the service standards, but finding 10W in Wisconsin.... well.. So anyone who has done this or had success in switching the oil type.. let us know.ThanksPatrick - Milwaukee WI

cpwalter
I have seen someone advertising 10W oil either in Hemmings, Old Cars, Skinned Knuckles, etc.I haven't tried to get any since the 1980's when I had some 1951 & 1952 Imperials. I did not know it wasdifficult to find. I used to use Wolfs Head Oil.
