Guest imported_Bookreader
For those of us who seem to be caught in the cold weather; the trips to Punta Gorda and Puerto Rico were wonderful. Both meets were a pleasure in many ways. Both had beautiful cars presented on the showfield. The Florida Meet had a show venue that was ideal for both viewing the cars and the water and the scenery of the historical town.A thank you to all who worked so hard to make this Meet possible and so pleasant. This was our first trip to Puerto Rico and it will not be our only trip. We are ready to return again whenever they have another National Meet. From beginning to end, the people were so gracious, the scenery from our rooms was spectacular, the food and yes, the drinks--were so enjoyable and the historical significance of the island through the years from discovery to the present brought Michener's book, Carribean to life for me. We truly were enjoying a part of the"Spanish Main" era as we toured, ate and relaxed in the perfect weather and scenery. The car owners had such wonderful smiles and were so pleased to have their cars judged. The awards banquet had the most smiling faces of entire families represented that I have ever seen.To hear their Puerto Rico anthem and to watch their faces of pride and then to hear the U.S. National anthem played as we all stood was such a thrill. This was pride, happiness and respect combined with the joy of our wonderful hobby. Thank you Puerto Rico Region for this experience.
