tikanaracing
I am trying to locate the vin number on the body of my 1935 chevy P/U and I can't find it. I looked on the doors and think it may be on the firewall some place but thought I would ask first before spending countless hours trying to find it. Please Help me! junkyardjeff
My 37 has a tag on the pass side of the firewall, dont know if a 35 is similar and from what I have heard some used the motor number for a VIN. If you have a title and cant find the number then it might have used the motor number and if you dont have the original motor I would try to find a similar era reproduction body tag and stamp the number you have and attach it to the firewall somewhere. Guest Oracle
Canadian would be on the "all in one" plate on the firewall. US trucks had the serial number on the plate on the dash. However back in '35 the State would probably have used the Engine Numner as has been mentioned. Given the known model type, if the body plate was extant then a fair judgement can be made of the assembly plant, and from the engine number the assembly plant, which just leaves the sequential number as unknown.
