HOW CAN I FIND OUT PRODUCTION NUMBERS ON MY 1988 CUTLASS

88FULLYLOADED

Recommended Posts

i'm trying to find out more info on my 1988 cutlass supreme..it is fully loaded with power bucket seats, power moonroof, power windows and locks, floor shift, tach dash, ect. ect.

i have search all over the web and i can't find anything on the production numbers so i figured i would try here...i have heard from local people that it is a rare car and most likely a special order car but i wanted to be for sure how rare it is...

i have seen a total of 3 with moonroofs in them in my life time but 2 of them had bench seats and then mine has the power buckets..

any help will be greatly appreciated..thanks

You're talking about a rwd Supreme Classic? They are scarce. We didn't get many of them in when they were new. They were only in production for a few months, then production switched over to the fwd platform. I probably have production numbers at home.

yes it's a rwd..i have heard they was loading the late 87's and early 88's up to get rid of all the acc's because they wouldn't use them again and they wanted to start on the fwd ones...

i'm going to take it to Auburn,In. in the fall to sell it there but i just wanted to find out as much info on it as i can...my boss just sold one like it except his had the bench seat instead of the power bucket seats like mine and he got 6500.00 out of it with more miles...i do know that the bucket seats with the floor shifter is more rare than the bench to..

1988 Cutlass Supreme Classic and Classic Brougham production was combined at 27.678. In 1987 these models were broken out separately and Brougham production was about 40%. I do not believe the Broughams were available with buckets.

I remember 2 '87s that we had on the lot at the time. One was a "light red" coupe. That one was stolen - twice. And there was a silver over black coupe that a co-workers mother bought.

We got in an '88 that was one of the sharpest cars I've ever seen. It was white with a maroon landau top and maroon bucket interior. It had crosslace aluminum wheels on it. I beleive they were pretty rare, not as common as the super stock wheels or wire wheel covers that most of them had. We sold that car to a local doctor and he used it sparingly. I kept my eye on that car for years, wanting to buy it when trade-in time came. Finally, late in 1991, that day came, and that car was re-sold and delivered within an hour of being traded. I never had a chance. And I lost track of it. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

HERE IS SOME PICS OF MINE (might put it up for sale)

it's a 1988 cutlass that is fully loaded with power moonroof,power bucket seats,power windows and locks,tach dash,floor shifter,ect. ect....

it has the 307 motor in it that runs great with no smoke, ticks, knocks ect. ect.(it gets a full tune up and oil change tomorrow)..the tranny shifts great to....

it is a very solid project (as seen in the pics) although it is a project and does need a couple things that i should have before it sells or gets traded...it needs a new exhaust system, headliner, moonroof gasket and some chrome trim (as seen in pics)..

if you have any questions feel free to ask..the car is located in lima, ohio 45801

Anyone have a Krause Standard Catalog of Oldsmobile? Should have numbers in it. Last one I saw on ebay someone wanted like $600 for a $24.95 paperback book... I emailed and asked what made it worth more than some actual Oldsmobile cars are, never got an answer. For some reason that one is hard to find.
