Guest ewing
1972 Buick Grand Sport on ebay Can this be real? I often wonder about these. It say BJ sold it, but does a BJ sale mean its real?It says by some freak of assembly line activity the build sheet is for a car 4 cars ahead of this one on the line; so its build sheet doesn't match then, so, as in this car doesn't have a build sheet. And, don't real GS cars have the GS badge on the inside door panel?I'll admit I'm not an expert, but is this really real, or is it a clone. Are there any other clues that say this car is real or a cloneHow car honest buyers really know what they are getting, and can GM authenticate these cars?Just curious. Guest BJM
John,Our GS community will have to chime in for proof positive but I know for Olds and Pontiac that the GTO and 442 reverted to an option for 1972 where it was a seperate series from 1966 to 1971. I would never pay a premium price for a 1972 GS. There are exceptions to this rule but it would require that the car have verifiable records going back to 1972. As for BJ being involved - no credence there IMO. They are interested in the sale of the vehicle first and foremost.

Guest imported_Thriller
The VIN decodes as:4 - BuickG - GS37 - 2-dr HTV - 455 4-bbl Stage 12 - 1972H - Flint, MI plantSo, unless the VIN has been faked, this car would be as expected.Could a change have been made in a seat or something on the assembly line leading to an incorrect build sheet being with this car I wonder?
