Hi

I would appreciate any help given in trying to identify what was purchased as a 1924 Chrysler 4cyl Tourer.

Rolling chassis with brakes to back wheels only.

Wood spoke wheels.

Chrysler badge on chassis and on radiator surround.

Motor has 4 1/4" (not sure of this but can check) stroke and I have been told that it is a 27 or 28 Chrysler or a 28 Plymouth.

Drum type head lights.

Can send pics of parts.

Hope some one can help

Didn't Chrysler innovate with 4 wheel hydraulic brakes back in '24 ?

The PO, back in '28 could have retrofitted simpler , more relieable brakes..

Possibily the Chrysler and Plymouth engines are identical...and any engine serial number be discovered ?

6 cylinder Chryslers had 4-wheel hydraulic brakes.

The four-cylinder Chrysler "52" was essentially a warmed-over Maxwell, and most retained 2-wheel mechanical brakes.

The 1928 Model 52 had bullet shaped headlights. The drum headlights indicate 1927 or earlier. I believe that would be a Model 50.

I bought a 1928 "52" from the original owner who stated that he bought that model specifically because it didn't have 4-wheel brakes. He (and many others) didn't trust brakes on the front wheels. Thought they would make you lose control.
