Custom Reattas

There was a discussion in a homecoming thread about customizing a Reatta, one was a extended limo, another thread a guy was going to lower his and smooth out the front end, how many other customs or ideas are out there? I always wanted to take the mouldings off and smooth them in, maybe round the nose like a 944 Porsche or late 80's RX7.

Attached is a Riv/Reatta pic I ran across somewhere, talk about a hybrid, is it real or photoshop?

The picture is real. The car belongs to a member of this board. Another, Spyhunter, already reworked the rear of his car, and is almost finished with smoothing the front. There is a Reatta with a front-hinged hood. I believe the most radical thing some of us have done is the addition of a spoiler. Customized cars are always interesting, however there are purists here who would frown on such things <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I always liked the idea of changing the bottom front (I'm at a loss of words) to look like the prototype turbo's, but I think it would be to cost prohibitive just for a little change.

That front facia can be done in fibreglas fairly easily. Carve it out of foam and do a hand lay up.I had a very similar front air dam/spoiler for my 67 mustang that was made by Meiers, maybe one of their parts could be modified to fit. We used thr round holes for cooling ducts to the brakes.Just an idea, Kenny

This winter, we will be starting the stretch Reatta project, here at the farm.

We will be using 3 cars to accomplish this custom, in order to maintain roof shape and angle. It should look like a twin-posted roof Reatta, with suicide doors.

Already have all the cars, and most the parts and materials to do the job.

Now just gotta schedule the time.......
