6 volt battery keeps going dead

My 48 ford f2 p/up 6 volt battery keeps going dead.I was continiously charging it andget it running but this weekend my charger would not charge it. the charger kept kicking off and a red light indicator showed trouble.

have you tried disconnecting one lead and charging it, could be the battery has developed an internal short, if it does take a charge check for a draw by placing an amp meter inbetwen the post of the battery and the battery lead and see if there is a draw (with everything turned off and fuse removed for the clock if equiped) if there is no draw that way, charge the battery, and leave it disconnected for a day or so and see if it keeps a charge or not..
