1949 98 questions

I couple of questions concerning my 1949 98 2D Club Sedan. I'd be more than happy if you could give me some answers - even one. Thanks in advance!

1) My techical english is not too good, so: what is the chrome strip in the attachement called? It's located just outside the rear (end also front) side window and as you can see, mine is slightly rusty... Where can I get new ones (probably Fusick or USA Parts Supply has them, but I'd need to find the right term for it first...)

2) Where can I get new quick silver switches to hood and trunk lid lamps? Are they interchangeable with some newer Olds' switches?

They might call it a channel or a sweeper.

Here's what you should do. Email Dave Jackson at Fusick's directly at dj442c@ix.netcom.com. Tell him exactly what you told us, but don't send the picture. Ask him if you can send him a picture and see what he says. I've sent pictures to their general email account in the past and they don't like that. But if you email Dave and ask first you shouldn't have a problem.
