tjenkins
Does anyone have a working IPC from a 90/91? I'm in dire need of one.
I've found several used ones in salvage yards, but the lower price (plus shipping) is $150.
Can anyone help?
--Tom

Guest
Looks like I have to do the same thing. Have you tried any of the three sources yet. Are you attempting to do your own installation?
Guest
remember - those prices are for used IPCs, not rebuilt/refurbished ones ...
tjenkins
Armed with a $150 (plus shipping) 60 day warranty IPC from Sharon Auto in western PA, I removed the 4 TORX screws holding in the original IPC, replaced it, and my issue seems to be solved.
Temp remaines at a constant 90C (195F) for 45-50 minutes. I'll continue to check coolant temp after warm up, but the failing temperature guage/readout inside the IPC seemed to be the culprit.
--Tom
tjenkins
Just when you thought you were winning the rat race, alone come faster rats.
Replacement IPC indicates same higher than normal temperature. Back to the dealer!

--Tom
Guest
Uh, Tom. Prior to instrument panel replacement, are the following independently verified as being within spec:
coolant level, radiator cap (pressure test), temperature sensor, coolant temperature (with thermometer)??? Explore simple ((and cheap) solutions first, I'd guess.
As a newcomer to this forum, I'm not sure that these had been addressed first.
