My father worked at the Westinghouse corporate research center in Pittsburgh from 1964-1989. I can remember that at the site (a "campus" of several buildings still present directly accross from the Churchill exit on I-376) there was a test course built in the early 1970's for an electric car program. I have no direct memory of them (I was in high school at the time), but I'm reasonably sure there were numerous cars built there throughtout the 1970s, probably all of which were continually modified and tested.
