34 Dodge
Does anyone have experience using synthetic oil in their old Dodge? I have a 1934 and use the freeways frequently. After a while my oil pressure drops (engine is fairly new) as the oil thins. I was wondering if synthetic oil would prevent this lowering of oil pressure. Thanks in advance. Jan Arnett
Are you using a single weight or a multi weight oil. If you use a multi weight oil you get less thinning. I would not use a synthetic oil. My experience is that they have a way of finding small leak prone areas and I have never had a old car that didn't have those. "legal disclaimer" This is just my oppion based upon experience. 34 Dodge
Thanks for the reply. I have been using a single weight, but will change to a multi-weight this weekend. I'll be travelling around the US for the DB Nationals, Chryslers at Carlisle and the WPC Nationals. That will be a good check to see how things are working. I'll let you know what happens.Ken
