Guest imported_Speedster
The reason I didn't reply is that I'm not familiar with the '53s master cylinder but if it is the same as the '56s, then a remote works Great. I couldn't find the original option type jar and hardware, at a good price, so I made my own. I drilled & tapped a hole for 1/8" pipe in the master-cylinder cap, installed tubing fittings and tubing up to top of a jar, mounted on firewall directly above steering-column. Put a small air hole in the jar cover. Made a simple L bracket from aluminum sheet to mount it to firewall. It works great and doesn't leak. The jar I used came with Strawberry Jelly in it.
Guest imported_Speedster
BTW, the original cap gasket worked great.
