Guest dave327
Has anyone replaced their carpeting recently with a moulded set? If so, where can it be ordered from and how is the quality? I noticed that Kanter listed carpet. Is this moulded? Has anyone had any experience with it?
Guest imported_Speedster
I got one from kanter for '56 Clipper, It was okay, but it didn't fit very well over transmission hump. It's still puckered there. It's not the new molded type. It does look original, except for the Pucker. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> I also got a head-liner for the Clipper from them, It fit and looks great. mrpushbutton
The original loop-type carpeting in the 55-56 Packards is "unobtanium", no one has manufactured that style of carpeting for years. The companies out there offering carpeting for the V-8's are selling a "close enough" product. Not to belittle them, it's just not the original type. Guest Randy Berger
I had the guy who did my interior sew up my carpet also. He did a great job using the original as a pattern. No "pucker". The original wasn't molded - don't know how they would "mold" a carpet to fit. Original carpet was very good, tough to find a modern equivalent. Like trying to find a towel as good as Cannon's Fieldcrest - taint possible.
