SteamShovel1923
Can anyone tell me the make, model, and year these tailights came off of.Thanks Dan
Dave@Moon
You didn't give any dimensions, but based on the size of the mounting holes they look to be rather large units. They appear to be 1951-1953 Packard taillight bezels, but it would take more information to be certain.
SteamShovel1923
Thanks Dave, that makes sense because I found a Cormorant hood ornament for this year Packard with the tailights, on the hood ornament the yellow wings were broken off any idea were to get new ones? Anyways here are the dimensions of the tailights 9" tall x 3 7/8 wide x 1 11/16 deepPart numbers: CB 17199 1340269 LH MOLD 1-1 DG (the LH means left-hand I assume) CB 17200 1340268 RH MOLD 1-1 DG Thanks Dan
52deluxe
they are not off a 51-53 packard, i got a 52 and while similar the tailights on mine are much more oval and do not mount from the outside. also packard did not use colored plastic wings those were usually made by a company called "gem." Guest De Soto Frank
These look similar to '50 - '52 De Soto ? If these were MoPar, they should have the "DPCD" monogram somewhere on the backside of the casting...
Dave@Moon
They do look like '51 DeSoto units. I thought that since the DeSoto units mount to a sloped area they'd be thicker toward the top (pointed) end, and that the mounting holes would be larger in proportion. I spent some time blowing up this image and I think we have a winner!
SteamShovel1923
It sure looks right, I did not realize it until I saw this picture but I have one lens that that fits the housing, it has that little round circle at the bottom part. The lens and covers were found in the same garage. Thanks Dan
