My Packard is going in for the ultratorc II upgrade ...Is there anything i need to do or know..before i bring it to the trans shop...The kit seems to have everything..except chrysler flexplate, front yoke, and I think thats it...really the kit is well contained with excellent directions and it realy seems to be a complete bolt it...Does anyone have this kit installed if so how is it? My trans is making alot of noise and when it gets hot it barely goes i have to give it alot of gas to move almost like it has a high stall speed convertor in it...also it has a bad vibration while driving plus a little at idle now too..Do you guy's think i made the right choice to go with the 727 A conversion kit for this car? Thanks for the help....

The folks that make the kit were at the Packard Parts meet today and they seemed very knowledable. They even told my they had to add a lot of adjustment to the kit to compensate for the varances in the Chrysler Trannies. But I think if my Gear Start goes south on me, that is the way I am going to go. I figure $2,000 to rebuild a Gear Start or $1,000 for the kit plus a 1,000 for a good used Torqueflight tranny with a warranty. I think the conversion will give you a car that will perform better in todays driving environment if you drive the car a lot. Just my opinion.

Thanks for the reply,,I think going to a 3 spd will help it alot on fuel mileage, wear and tear on the motor, probably even give it some more power..I think it will have a lower first gear now and be able to cruise on the highway at a lower RPM ...so i think yes it will be a big factor to me because i drive it alot to all over different states and car shows...I'll keep ever one posted on the install...Thanks again

Thanks B.H. I will keep you posted on how this goes..its there right now getting installed .I think it will have some advantages and your probably right on some of the disadvantages..but my trans wasnt operating to well so i took the chance to convert to a 3 spd A-727 which i think for me might be a good thing..Thanks again for the reply.

Yes Brian....at the top of the forum for one. PeterG has instilled advice everywhere.

He also cannot keep track of passwords but tells how you can change yours back.

To have someone do it for you, you will need an administrator because moderators do not have access to that information. Just FYI,
