Rear Drum ?

I know i need a puller for this what type do i need? I have a leaking wheel cyl. Is there a special way to remove these? The car is still getting the trans put in the complete bolt in kit isnt a complete bolt in kit...The cross memeber they give you needs modifactions, the exhaust ( i have true duals) need to because the cross over pipe hits the trans now..What a project and now this a leaky wheel cyl.....
5. Thanks B.H. I will keep you posted on how this goes..its there right now getting installed .I think it will have some advantages and your probably right on some of the disadvantages..but my trans wasnt operating to well so i took the chance to convert to a 3 spd A-727 which i think for me might be a good thing..Thanks again for the reply.
6. Last year i had the brakes redone and the master rebuilt, all new brake fluid and new vac lines you name it was done...The car used to stop on a dime...ok maybe a nickel..anyways the brakes where great...Now they stink the pedal feels hard like i have no power booster...I know i have a slight leak and i added some fluid that has to be fixed i dont know why its leaking but i will find it...The only thing i did was install a edelbrock carb 600 cfm and i had to use a 1 inch spacer,i am using the back port of the carb for the check valve for the power brakes..Can it be that im not getting good vaccum or what????What other reason would i have a hard brake pedal?????
7. Thanks for the reply,,I think going to a 3 spd will help it alot on fuel mileage, wear and tear on the motor, probably even give it some more power..I think it will have a lower first gear now and be able to cruise on the highway at a lower RPM ...so i think yes it will be a big factor to me because i drive it alot to all over different states and car shows...I'll keep ever one posted on the install...Thanks again
8. My Packard is going in for the ultratorc II upgrade ...Is there anything i need to do or know..before i bring it to the trans shop...The kit seems to have everything..except chrysler flexplate, front yoke, and I think thats it...really the kit is well contained with excellent directions and it realy seems to be a complete bolt it...Does anyone have this kit installed if so how is it? My trans is making alot of noise and when it gets hot it barely goes i have to give it alot of gas to move almost like it has a high stall speed convertor in it...also it has a bad vibration while driving plus a little at idle now too..Do you guy's think i made the right choice to go with the 727 A conversion kit for this car? Thanks for the help....
9. Thanks again for the reply the reason i disconnected the filter was i thought it might help with the lifter/oil flow and it did i barely get any lifter noise at all, the only i get some lifter noise is when its really warm out and the oil must get lighter...I do have the chrysler small block lifters in there and and my oil pressure cold is 45 psi and at idle warmed up its 25 psi as soon as i give it gas its back to 40 psi all day..I drove from NJ to Conn. which was about a 3 hr drive 40 psi and no lifter noise so thats why i left it disconnected so can i leave it that was and just change my oil more often????
10. Thanks for the info so can i leave it off without hurting anything or should i re connect it..I had another idea too, i was going to run a hard line form the head to the port on the block to let the oil flow that way .Will that work????

Oil filter?

I have a quick question last year i disconnected my filter totaly i plugged where the lines went with 3/8 plugs...I was talking to someone the other day and they said that i shouldnt have done this, something about oil going over the timing cover or something..So my question is, this is a bi-pass filter what will it hurt leaving it disconnected...I KNOW I HAVE TO HAVE FILTER...but for now with this disconnected my lifters seem to be alot queiter this way...Was he right about saying im hurt the timing chain?...I thought the chain had gotten oil from the valley pan or from the oil pan....Is the chain going to be hurt me leaving this disconnected???? Thanks
12. Thanks B.H. Well i did have this saved but i lost it because i was not really going to keep my Packard if you guys remember...But i decided to Im going to keep the stock motor and im in the middle of puttin in the 727A transmission conversion the ultra torc II i think its called. Any way i thought that you could get it down a little by making adjustable t-links i was only looking for about 2 - 3 inches lower which really isnt alot to me ....I want tosee if i can get them used but if not does kanter really have them new????? If so who on here did the re-work to these to make them adjustable? Thanks for the help
